become Ole Miss football. Think about it. We have had some big success in this sport and we have a great atmosphere and following. However, our fans are forced to look back on the days of glory such as '85 and '90. We have a moment of success here and there amidst a sea of mediocrity. Heck, we even had a "Return to Glory" (minus the book) followed by a craptastic season. It's not a perfect fit, but there are a lot of similarities. The only major difference is MSU baseball could still be pretty dominant, but we aren't smart enough to make the necessary hire. If we end up with Raffo we might as well resign ourselves to more years of the same crap we've seen for years around here.
Raffo = the lazy hire. I will be extremely disappointed if this is who we get. It boggles the mind that our administration doesn't value baseball anymore than it does. This is the one sport we've been highly competitive in for ages and we are letting it be torn down to a place where atmosphere and the glory days are what we look forward to discussing rather than being excited about who we will be playing at this year's Starkville Regional.</p>
