If Portnoy's hatred of Brandon Walker is a shtick....

Portnoy loves Brandon Walker and nobody will convince me otherwise. The platform that he’s given him is incredible, and Walker makes money for Barstool. Portnoy also loves to talk **** about Walker, which is pretty on-brand for hazing one of your good buddies.

I am not sure why any of this is appealing. The drama, whether real or manufactured, is just pathetic.
I would rather search for one of those Basketball Wives shows and watch 4 episodes of that than listen to barstool people rip on each other.

He signs his paycheck and promotes the hell out of him by putting him on multiple shows throughout his network. Of course he likes him

B Walker has 200k folllwers.

There are other “stars” at barstool with 40% less.

And if Dave didn’t like or wasn’t making money off Brandon he’d get rid of him.

For the record, I’m agreeing with you.

Barstool is for guys who used to act like dumbass macho idiots when they were younger but then had to grow up and become adults. They wish they could still act that way publicly but they can’t because of their job, kids, whatever. So they have to live vicariously through these Barstool people like Dave Portnoy, who still can act like that.

Barstool is definitely not for guys for with low T. I think they act like people when they are with their close friends. I personally love the unfiltered delivery.

I'd say most folks that love Barstool graduated college in the 90s. Inside the MSU fanbase, you probably saw them fighting (or cheering the fight on) in the parking lot at the Landing quite often.

Not to mention, Portnoy includes Brandon in the live (and studio) college football shows, which is probably the coolest thing any of their employees do on a regular basis. I am sure they yuck it up together on their private flights to Ann Arbor, Morgantown, Chicago, etc...

If only the state of Mississippi would allow live betting apps, off property, they might actually come to Starkville.

He puts out a pile of content for sure. I think Barstool is perfect for him.

I don’t necessarily love how they act and don’t necessarily love Dave, but I admire the **** out of him for multiple reasons.

1. He’s worked his *** off to create what he has. The American dream. Lots of people are jealous.

2. He seems to be genuinely passionate abt what he does.

3. He appears to really like to help people. You can see that on his pizza reviews and his fundraising for small businesses and charities.

Brandon Walker is outgrowing Barstool IMO. He could have his own company and do just fine.

The only things I can stomach coming from Barstool are the College Football Show inspite of Dave's BS, Unnecessary Roughness podcast with BW & KSmith and then I his call in shows on Sling is probably my favorite right now..

Its' a better Finbaum show. Not as much stupidity but I don't listen to any of it except on head phones. It does get bad at times, especially during the offseason.

I don't think he has outgrown Barstool, but the dude could some day. He can be a bit of an *** but I that's just a hook or gimmick to me. I don't know the guy from Adam if he is a good guy or not, I just find his shows better than most.

BFW mentioned on one of the shows that he plans on moving back to the 'sip in about a year. I think he has had enough of Jersey. With the way they have had to deal with the Rona, he can work from anywhere and remote in (not sure about how good the dial up/2G connection is in Point City.)

I don’t think that’s the best idea. He has a huge company pushing his content out to a nationwide audience. He’s really good on their college football show. Maybe he can branch out but that is a huge risk he’ll have to take.

However, I’m sure it was not easy to move his family 1,000 miles from rural Mississippi to one of the largest cities in the U.S. They might be begging him to move back everyday.

He probably has 100K former followers BLOCKED

So it should be more like 300K followers. Haha. Brandon talks a bunch of **** but will block a mofo in a heart beat. I love it when he tweets some of the DM’s he gets. People are idiots

His Sling call-in program could be done remotely but that fanbase that supports Sling got there through Barstool. Would it stand alone and would that be enough? He would need to keep some of it going for sure.

I do think he is tiring of them and the place, he has said many times he wanted to be back in MS but walking away from that kind of $$$ is not something easily done.

I will say that work environment looks toxic from my vantage point. It appears to be a bunch of former jock wannabes yucking it up and making fun of each other for content.

That **** would get old to me quickly. That pushing incident where this dude called him a moron from Mississippi just sums up the place for me. The dude that called him that got no discipline because they want that controversy. I used to pay attention to all of it but now, I just listen to some podcast as I feel like it.

Kayce Smith defends the work environment on their UN/Roughness podcast as being great for women and she loves it there. Maybe it is great and it's all just an act but that crap would get old to me. I could put up with it for serious $$$ but for how long? You know he is getting other opportunities now even if they aren't as lucrative.

He loves it as they all do. It is an act put on by a bunch of guys with a sense of humor. It is the fans that take it more serious than it really is

There’s a lot of rumors of a Barstool South office and Brandon coming down to be apart of it. They have a Chicago office so it makes sense.

Portnoy has been in Florida a lot lately. It would not surprise me if he opened a big branch down there and maybe ultimately the whole company.

I've thought this too. Nashville seems like a likely spot as does Dallas, ATL and possibly B'ham. It will certainly be somewhere with legalized sports gambling where he can possibly open a casino or at least have an online gambling presence, not sure of the gambling laws in these states, expect that TN does have online gambling (and I think LA is going live with it soon). MS is leaving a lot of money on the table by not allowing online gambling.
