dont look for him to be well liked. Look at this way, if he doesnt take us straight to success within, 2-3 years, like CWS and actually winning a game, hosting regional or super regionals, he will have a target on his back....hell, he is going to start with a target on his back, and a short leash, because Polk got his way, and the alumni didnt....

i say he wont be well liked....I call on a lot of doctors in the columbus area, and many are close personal friends with LT, and even they dont like the idea of Polk calling his shot and trying to forever rule this program.....

this is not a postition to hire a bench coach or assistant, we need a proven head coach with a track record, and our program's reputation can achieve this...

I heard the other day that some alumni are displeased with Croom about Woody and the offense and we should look for him to be on the hot seat if we don't see significant improvement this year. Can you verify this?

You'll have 3 groups: those that worship Polk as being MSU baseball and thus think we should follow his wishes, those that despise Polk for the current state of the program and thus don't want anyone close to him, and those that appreciate what he's done but think we should try to hire a proven head coach. The first group will be happy and will show up in droves, the other two not so much. That's why so many are high on Cohen, he's the best of all worlds. He went here so he knows the program, tradition, an dall of that. At the same time he has coached at various other stops and been very successful, including being a proven head coach. To me that is a hire that would bring the fanbase together and energize it.
