does Jeff Brantley become his pitching coach?

They both seem interested in coming back, and obviously Brantley would probably be best suited as a pitching coach as opposed to a head coach.

Along the same lines, does he keep Raffo as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator?

If he does come on board, he must hire someone that is a top notch recruiter, so I would be OK with Brantley coming in, but not Raffo staying.

be an assistant coach, or at least I wouldn't think so. His gig with the Reds is probably pretty lucrative, moreso than an assistant job in college ball.

Brantley would be a nice hire but he does not have his masters degree

</p>he could probably work on it if he came to State. Isn't that what Byrne was/is doing?

</p>actually he could still be the pitching coach...there are ways around not having a msters and still coach college. Just curious...does Showalter have his masters?

Steve Spurrier doesn't. He was my first guess, and I only looked at one more I didn't think would have one. And I was right, Ed Orgeron doesn't either. Of course, no longer a head coach, but the point remains.

<div></div><img alt="image">Seems good friend Houston Dale Nutt does not have a Masters either...
How about this guy named Phillip Fulmer... check, no masters found either.

Lets just compile a list broken down by school with NO Masters Degree (major 3 sports only)
<span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;">SEC EAST</span>
<span style="font-weight: bold;">USC</span> - Darrin Horn - Basketball
<span style="font-weight: bold;">UT</span> - Phillip Fulmer - Football
Bruce Pearl - Basketball (began work at University of Iowa as Asst Coach never finished)
<span style="font-weight: bold;">UF </span> - Billy Donovan - Basketball
<span style="font-weight: bold;">UGA</span> - Dennis Felton - Basketball
Mark Richt - Football
<span style="font-weight: bold;">UK</span> - Billy Gillispie - Basketball

<span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;">SEC WEST</span>
<span style="font-weight: bold;">UM</span> - Houston Nutt - Football
Mike Bianco - Baseball
<span style="font-weight: bold;">AU</span> - Tommy Tuberville - Football
(Former Coach) Tom Slater - Baseball? (unable to find any links and current bio won't pull up due to cstv network down)
Jeff Lebo - Basketball? (again unable to find anything, and bio down)
<span style="font-weight: bold;">UA - </span> Mark Gottfried - Basketball
<span style="font-weight: bold;">LSU</span> - Les Miles - Football
Trent Johnson - Basketball
<span style="font-weight: bold;">Arkansas</span> - Bobby Petrino - Football
John Pelphrey - Basketball

That would be a total of <span style="font-weight: bold;">17</span> of <span style="font-weight: bold;">30</span> Head Coaches in the SEC who do NOT have Master Degrees.
Interesting note, appears None of the Head Coaches in the Major 3 at Auburn have Masters..
MSU and Vandy are the only 2 schools who all 3 of the major 3 head coachs do have a masters.

Still.. Truth, you are an Idiot. You're horrible empty and lies of statements cause you to look even more stupid every time you post.

I don't give a **** if they don't have a HS diploma, if they can coach. Master degrees have zero effect on coaching ability. It just looks good because people like to say coaches are "educators." That a problem with America. We go to much on looking and feeling good, and not enough on getting the job done.

The reason most (but not all) do is because the first rung on the coaching ladder is GRADUATE ASSISTANT. In other words, most coaches start out coaching in a position that is created for graduate students. Even if you don't have the full graduate degree by the time you move up to a full-time coaching position, you're usually close enough that it makes sense to go ahead and get the remaining few hours needed to get the masters degree.

that should be a new archive. Save the absolute worst posts from the board. I may do that on NAFOOM. In fact, I think I will.
