would you:

(a) run as fast as you can, to set the world record so low that no one will get close in the next 100 years; or

(b) relax halfway through the race, laugh, and thump your chest and just barely beat the world record?

I just don't get it.

You receive a bonus from your sponsors each time you break a world record, thousands if not millions of dollars. Why set the bar too high the first time?

maybe he comes from that "Tin Cup" school of thought, & records are for history nerd types, but doing something off the wall memorable is a whole lot cooler.

I have not seen it yet, but what he did sounds funny as hell

But you raise a valid argument. If you're U Bolt, you probably think you're invincible.

He has plenty of time to lower it even further. But I would bet that somebody, somewhere, sometime will break whatever record he sets.

Edit to add: I think he turned 22 the other day actually.
