With the #2 seed wrapped up, do you rest Saquon Barkley next week, or let him try to break Dickerson's season rushing record (heneeds 101 yards)?

I say, leave it up to the OL. If they want to go for the record, then game on. If they would rather get ready for the playoffs then dial it back.

I know the NFL has an extra game now, but rushing for that much in today's game is impressive.

Wonder if he has a bonus in his contract for breaking the record? That could make the decision a little more interesting.

IDK, but he left yesterday's game after going over 2,000 for the season. Sound like that was the goal.

I’m sorry, but even if he breaks Dickerson’s record, there should be an asterisk. If Dickerson would’ve gotten an extra game, he likely would’ve gone over 2,200 yards. As it stands, Saquon’s season is 8th best all-time.

But the record Dickerson broke was set in a 14-game season. So does he get an asterisk too?

As an Eagles fan they should rest Barkley. I would hope they give Hurts some snaps. With the injury and probable bye I hate for the qb to be out of game situations that long. Never seems to work out well.

I think Dickerson would like to see him rested.

“These people who say, ‘records are meant to be broken,’ you ain’t got no record,” Dickerson told USA TODAY Sports on Sunday, after Barkley ripped off his 11th 100-yard game of the season at the expense of the Dallas Cowboys.

“You don’t have one. When you get those records, you want to hang on to them. No matter if it was in bowling and you had 30 strikes in a row, you don’t want nobody to break that. The fastest mile ever, you don’t want nobody to break that. Those are true accomplishments. You can always look back and that record’s been held for 40 years now.”

OJ Simpson:
2003 yards in 14 games on 332 attempts.
That's 6.0 ypc and 143.1 ypg.

Eric Dickerson
2105 yards in 16 games on 379 attempts.
That's 5.6 ypc and 131.6 ypg.

Saquon Barkley (with 1 game remaining)
2005 yards in 16 games on 345 attempts.
That's 5.8 ypc and and 125.3 ypg.

It's pointless comparing "total yardage" when the number of games being played isn't the same. OJ's 143.1 yards per game is substantially better than either Dickerson or Saquon.

Damn. OJ was a monster. He was absolutely killing it.

If I'm the owner,:

Saquon, here's your bonus. Don't bother showing up for the game, cause you ain't going in. Go fishing or hunting or whatever you need to do to relax and heal.

No Bye week. They expanded the playoffs this season so only the No. 1 seeds get byes. (Vikings or Lions). But it would still be smart for Hurts to see some action.
