Be sure and take that long beautiful drive up the Cumberland Gap....following the Columbia River up the Gap to Mt. Hood. It is breathtaking for a southern native like me.

Oh by the way, if you're drinking some of the local brew.....DO NOT get into politics. That place makes Obama look like HD6.

And DO NOT try and pump your own gas. As an afterthought, go ahead and pump it. And then tell the guy that you aren't waiting or paying for his slow-*** to get the gas in your car. Always great for a discussion about "where in the hell you from?"

and the gas attendant said it was against the law to pump your own gas in Oregon. Also, I worked there long enough to have state income taxes withheld. Turns out, if the state of Oregon has a budget surplus in a given year, they have to refund the money to the tax payers for that year. I got a check from Oregon about a year after I had filed with my "refund". Imagine that, a state government running a surplus.

Maybe it's just late and I've had one too many and am not thinking properly, but why is it against the law to pump your own gas? Can you only get a certain amount at a time or something?
