as to why I shouldn't just be done with "college" sports. Between NIL, Portals, 2 decades of getting the big dry one from league officials on/and off the field... What's the 17ing point? By investing (time, money, and liver function) in this shìt, its just chasing a bad investment down the drain.

We can't keep an AD or coach for more than 3-4 years because most good ones that might otherwise come to State know we are the Washington Generals to whatever version of the Globetrotters the SEC office matches up against us. So we have to hire unknowns that with an even modicum of success, run off to another school in the conference at a rate that makes one think it's being orchestrated by the league office. Not to mention the games have changed to 7 on 7 football, And 1 basketball, and this 3 true outcomes baseball horseshìt. And the amount of open favoritism the league office sanctions from the Alabama, Georgia, and soon to be Texas type schools vs smaller schools is down right Tammany Hall type corruption.

So 17 the SEC. 17 Birmingham and everyone in it. I hope the mother17ing Big 10, ACC, and Big 12 rape everyone in the SEC other than State for the next 20 years in every sport if that's what it takes to rip those offices and the corrupt knob polishers in them out of Birmingham and put it somewhere like Nashville or Dallas... A real 17ing city, not an inbred run down sister kissing, good ole boy frat house in a disgusting no good shìthole like Birmingham.

17 em all. And 17 me for thinking it will ever change.

I've said it before, if I didn't graduate from MSU, it would be the absolute last shltshow I'd follow. The modern dynamics added to college athletics make it even worse.

If you want a nightmare scenario...imagine Templeton being in charge during the NIL error. I get IBS just thinking about it.

What are the other options? Golf? Hunting? Camping? No thanks.

And still no word from the league about the Alabama head baseball coach who was calling in big money bets right before their games . No, the casino had to catch that one.

Ya know I was just sitting here thinking about Jans . The difference now and the past about his possibly leaving to me is I'm becoming so jaded to college athletics (even at State) that things like this hardly even raise my eyebrow anymore. Now instead of feeling bothered or betrayed it's just "next man up". I mean why be bothered by something you can't do a damn thing about ?

There's a growing sentinment of people just like you in our fanbase and I'm one of them. I love MSU and always will but I don't have the vested interest I used too. The older I get the less relevant it has become in my life. Some of it is age and some of it is the current state of collegiate athletics.

If it is a discretionary investment I would walk away. Unfortunately for some of us it is our lot in life.

If most of our decisions we make were based on reason we'd all be driving Kia Sorrentos and out baseball team wouldn't have the nicest stadium in the country. We support our teams because we feel an affiliation with them - e.g. when Jordan's at the plate he's my guy because he's playing for my school and he's from just down the road from where I'm from.

Is that changing with the professionalization of college sports? Yep.

Exactly. Maybe it is me growing older, but it just doesn't feel like the "home town team" with "home town players" any longer.

Just like with MLB, I lost interest when free agency came along and the lineup changes every year.

I will always have a heavy time and emotional investment into everything Mississippi State. However, my financial investment has slowed over the years and is now limited to concession stand food and drinks. I hate that happened, but my financial priorities have changed over the years.

It’s hard for me to get too upset. They should be getting paid.

Let Keenum, Selmon and Lebby figure it out. I’ll do my best to keep up.

The funny thing to me is that ten years ago, I almost thought of my BC contribution as an obligation to my Alma mater. A great way to give back and enjoy college athletics in parallel

Now, between that and NIL, it’s hard for to think of a bigger waste of hard earned money. It’s like knowingly giving to a giant ponzi scheme, yet being ok with it because the letters and emails have an MSU logo attached to them

If what sent you over the edge is an incident in a regular season college baseball game, then I think the problem is you.
