Not only did they not get a host when they probably should have…they get sent to the number 2 overall seed. What?! Their profile is VERY similar to ECU’s (except better).

How does that big of a gap between those two teams exist? Easy answer is ECU’s AD but even compare ISU to UCSB. I’m baffled.

All that after being left out of the basketball tourney as well.

I'm gonna laugh when you knock out UT in their own regional. I live 10 miles from that ******** and these 17ers are insufferable. If they had to host a Southern Miss super I would be there every day.

I know it would never happen in NCAA due to regional travel constraints, but how fun would a televised Champions league style lottery draw for regionals be? They’d have to develop set, known criteria for who hosts and the tourney field,, but I’d rather a lottery ball determine fate instead of a G5 committee who just makes up whatever excuses they want.

They were playing the women's softball tournament against Alabama yesterday. I can't say I could ever or have ever pull for any team from Alabama, I was very happy when they knocked off the #3 Lady Volunteers.

Agree - y’all got screwed too. What I don’t like about it (well, one of the things) is USM also has a similar profile to ECU. I think ECU’s is slightly better, and I think Indiana St’s is better, but good grief, not 16 spots better, which is where y’all landed. There’s no consistency. I thought you’d be headed to a FSU or UGA at worst.

I know it doesn't really work out that way and they take travel, conference affiliation, et al, into consideration, but is that the intention? That the best 2 seed plays in the 16th best 1 seed's regional? Then back around where the best 3 seed is in the overall 1 seed's bracket?
