Does a coach survive two straight non bowl years?

Should a coach survive two straight non bowl years?
Considering you have 3 built-in cream puff wins most years, no. 6 is the magic number, but you really only have to find 3 wins in the schedule. Next year we play ODU, Akron, Wofford and Vandy. If we can’t find 2 wins, then it’s time.

I think if we go 4-8 next year I'd still give Beamer at least 1 more year.
Not sure there is a team in the East (even though there isn't divisions next year) that 2int be better next year.
6-6 next year, as well as 6-6 this year would surprise me.

So who can we afford at this point? It takes money to hire top talent and we don’t have until “Chump” is paid off. I’m not sure Beamer is the guy but I’m not ready to give up on him yet. Would like to see what be done once money is on the table. Need some better defensive coaches. But be prepared, this offense may be horrible next year without Rattler. I hope not, but not looking good. I believe Beamer can recruit but I guess we will see.

Chump was paid off in a lump sum. We don’t have budget constraints as it relates to coaching hires. That doesn’t mean we’re going to throw $12m at Urban, but RT didn’t hire Beamer bc he couldn’t afford anything better.

Jamey Chadwell was making $300,000 at Coastal when the job was open. He is now undefeated at Liberty, on his way to winning now at his 4th consecutive school. I'm not saying hire Chadwell. I am saying that there are "winners" at lower level FBS schools who we certainly can afford.

I'm a believer in history. I make a lot of investment decisions based on history. That has served me well. When I look at our history in football since I have been a USC fan, I see that the ONLY football coaches who have had any success at South Carolina (Dietzel, Carlen, Morrison, Holtz and Spurrier) ALL had PRIOR success at FBS schools. But the educated geniuses on our Board of Trustees fell for lobbying efforts by some former players on behalf of a coach who had never been an OC or DC, (forget about being a successful Head Coach at a FBS school). Unbelievable. Only at South Carolina. SMH
