In football, think of a recruit that was almost or seriously considering PSU then went to another school.....

and said recruit would have made a difference for a National Championship. I think Terrelle Pryor, Chad Henne, Eddie George.

I know there were rumors that Peyton Manning considered PSU but I always assume that B.S.

I'm sure I'm missing some defensive options.

Not Payton but apparently Eli was.

I dint think Terrell’s Pryor seriously considered PSU. His visit was a favor to Joe.

perhaps:

Kevin Jones
Greg Skrepanak

PSU already had a better running back on the roster than Kevin Jones, Larry Johnson.

Talk was about Eli, but the Mannings weren't considering PSU. Just good Ole Arch jerking everyone off.

My understanding is that Eddie George wanted in and coach told him, "Sure, you'll make one heck of an outside linebacker."
Ditto Jim Kelly

Ron Dayne also wanted in and coach told him, "Sure, you'll make one heck of a defensive end!"
Skrep was a tough miss because PSU football is HUGE in Nepalachia! Also,we had won it all in the Fiesta.

Tom Bradley was very close to getting Pryor to commit.

George was a year removed from the RB class that brought it KiJana Carter, Mike Archie, Stephen Pitts, JT Morris, and Brian King.

Dayne had zero interest in PSU.

Henne - if he's not the QB for Michigan when we play and lose to them in 2005 we're probably undefeated heading into post-season play (Michigan our only loss that year). We did have Michael Robinson who was great, but couldn't beat Henne.

Justin Fields too - would have been a sophomore on the 2019 team that went 11-2, with one of the losses being to OSU/Justin Fields. We also probably do not lose to Minnesota.

Winning begets recruiting. If you don’t win with regularity, you shouldn’t complain about missed recruits.

Winning solves most everything.

2020: 4-5

2021: 7-6

2022: 🤷🏼‍♂️

I thought he was ‘in the bag’ so to speak and his commitment to Michigan was a total shock. Maybe something with his coach changed things…?

Henne was never in the bag for PSU as some have claimed. He made a business decision and a pretty smart one at that.
