Round/position.

I have not really been paying attention, but saw that former Lion Christian Campbell was selected by the Stars. Not sure if any other PSU names have popped up yet.

Yinzers - get ready to boo Kyle Lauetta.

You are way ahead of me I didn't even know they were rebooting the USFL 🤷‍♂️
I consider myself a college football fan and I don't think I recognized more than 2 names on that list. maybe I'm not the fan I think I am. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Maybe I follow this stuff too closely, because I recognized a bunch of guys…guys on the WFT roster at some point, guys that had some NFL impact (Eli Rogers, Paxton Lynch, etc), and names from the AAF and XFL. And of course Campbell.

Yeah, recognized Paxton Lynch also. Man, that guy's career just went south quickly. Hope he saved his signing bonus from Denver.

He's from Downingtown. Played college ball at Richmond.

I'm not interested in another league like the NFL. I would actually like to see a league even more scripted than the NFL. The XFL has the ability for a huge following if they "mirror" the wresting style environment and energy. Back flips on the field, players doing crazy end zone dances, fighting with referees... just completely outlandish actions. Stuff that you could drink a few beers and watch and laugh at the entertainment. You guys remember HeHateMe!? LOL. If they could pull in all of the wrestling fans, they would have their own side dish of the market. No one is going to watch or engage in these leagues.

Jordan Ta'amu is an interesting QB...he played in the XFL, and was the starting QB for Saint Louis, with Taylor Heinicke backing him up and never seeing the field. Heinicke has since started a playoff game and most of this season for Washington. Ta'amu has been with 4 different NFL practice squads in the last two seasons.

The original USFL had Flutie, Jim Kelly, Herschel, etc. and failed fast. This one has nobodies and will fail faster.
We'll see. They seem to be doing some better things this time - all the teams actually play in one stadium, just using the names and locations of the previous teams. I think they have a salary system, as opposed to trying to compete with NFL salaries.

I would rather watch this than baseball.

The problem with this is the XFL is coming back next season with a connection to the NFL so they'll be a direct competition for the same pool of guys. The chances of both leagues surviving are next to zero, but I'd think think the one that's trying to be an NFL feeder has a better shot.

They were doing fine until they got the bright idea that they could compete with the NFL head to head in the fall. It didn’t work out so well.

The problem with the OG USFL was that the owners weren't united on the league goal. I probably failed due to the Donald. He was trying to force the NFL to merge the Generals into the league. I think the owners were more content with the different season.

That's cause they paid them a shiite ton of money that the NFL wasn't matching. I miss the Chuck Fusina to Scott Fitzkee Phila Stars!!! Irv Eatmen and the Oates Bros on the OL, Pete Kugler at Nose Tackle and Sam Mills. What a team!!

Why didn't they list their college or where they came from? Just dumb. Anyway, if I was a college football player who wasn't going to make it to the NFL and get paid, why not go to USFL and get paid? I wonder if they have a rookie minimum like the NFL(used to be $425K)

Yikes. Did some research and USFL gets paid crap:

USFL players will begin receiving payments during training camp followed by an average salary of around $45k for a 10-week season.

Then again $45K for 10 weeks, maybe not so bad just graduating.

I would hold out for XFL though as it looks like they are going to pay more:

In the XFL players made according to ESPN anywhere between $43k and 66k while the league quarterbacks took home substantially more. In the Canadian Football League salaries typically range higher with the minimum salary set at $65k ($51K USD) for the 2021 season with some stars earning upwards of $300k ($236k USD) a year.

Based on the salary levels: USFL will not last past 1 season if they make it thru the entire season.

Why? That’s the smart move…it’s high salaries and trying to be “too big” that kill off leagues like this. Smart financial decisions are what give them a better chance at longer term success.

Here's one of the many financial drawbacks of living in Canada and playing in the CFL, posted not long after the Steelers were knocked out of the playoffs by Canadian Chase Claypool. As we all know fuel prices have climbed significantly since this picture was taken.

People underestimate the amount of grown men who haven't given up on the dream.

You aren't going to get superstars, but you might uncover a few. The niche has to be "football fans coming over to watch during the off season."

The Lauletta’s were my neighbors a few years back before we moved to NE. Very nice family…wish Kyle luck.
