They’re already counting out USC. Pitt reference.

There might be a “you’ve already visited this page too many times, you cheap bastard” paywall but it worked for me. Worth a read.

Good stuff. There is absolutely zero excuse for the pitiful Texas A&M results. I guess it goes to show that you can recruit like gangbusters but if you don't know how to coach them up and make them function as a team stars are meaningless. To Saban's credit he knows how to do that and Fisher is lost in the sauce.

Many here would have PSU on the list. WE DESERVE BETTER!

Save it for the game day thread Marshall - gonna wear yourself out...

Notre Dame at 3?

I live in the beating heart of Notre Dame country and I can tell you, without a doubt, that not many Notre Dame fans were honestly expecting a playoff run this season. They had some very large questions about the offensive line, receivers, and especially their offensive coordinator.

Most of them wanted to see improvement but weren't expecting an undefeated run.

The idea of a playoff caliber Notre Dame team was largely a media invention.

The media inflates the chronically underperforming, self-righteous tradition-laden greatest college football team of all time? Their projected number of national championships is only equaled by the number sPitt claims historically.

Every year.

I'd be hesitant to throw too much cowshit on Notre Dame at this point as the same can (and has been) said about playoff caliber Penn State teams.

I can tell you from tailgating with them in South Bend that Ohio State fans DO NOT view Penn State as a legitimate threat and don't see the upcoming game as any kind of obstacle.

Penn State does not get overhyped by the media to the extent that nd does, year after year.

Do you blame them?

Even on the rare occasion we outplay them, the Big10 refs erase it.

I don’t know about anyone else but I never saw any reason to expect LSU to contend. That’s like being disappointed in Old Miss.

I also wouldn’t be so quick to count out USC. They’re not playing great, but managed not to lose while doing so. Defense isn’t great but anyone who’s seen their QB play knows he’s a hell of a weapon for a shootout.

It really shouldn't be a disappointment. They pretty much do this every year. One of the most over-hyped programs in college football. I get tired of hearing about them.

Fixed for everyone.

Not at all. What rubs me the wrong way is their general arrogance.

I met a couple of decent Ohio State in South Bend, but only a couple.
The arrogance of OSU fans or ND fans? I find ND fans to be far more self righteous and arrogant….for little reason.

NO ONE gets overhyped like ND. Year after year after year.

Elko at A&M is a good coach. I expect them to make a run at some point.
