Is ESPN's new standalone streaming service a viable option for South Carolina fans who only want to watch the Gamecocks?

I think adding $30/month to whatever non-Youtube TV service you have, sans live sports, would put you in Youtube TV monthly subscription cost territory.

Streaming has gone crazy IMO with price. Many have stated its approaching cable cost. Only going to get worse.

And that is one of the reasons why I truly cut the cord and have rooftop antennae at each house.

I paid the $10.00 in June 2023 & 2024 to watch Gamecock postseason baseball on ESPN+.

I guess that $10.00 will now go to increased costs of consumer goods due to imposed tariffs.

With this and now FOX coming out with a stand-alone streaming service that will include all FOX, FS1, and FS2 sports, I could be tempted to dump YTTV. The only reason I even keep YTTV is because of sports. All the network shows we watch are also available on other streaming services I already have. NBC shows on Peacock. I have Paromount+, which is included with my 24/7 subscription, so all of CBS is there. All ABC is on Hulu. It is all going to depend on what the price difference is on the Hulu/Disney/ESPN package I currently have vs what it will be bundled with the stand-alone ESPN. They have only said what the cost is for the bundle with ads. We would get the no-ads bundle. And then what will the FOX service cost. If it is a significant savings from what I pay YTTV, I will more than likely dump YTTV.

Sounds like you already pay for 4 monthly subscriptions that probably (with no ads) come to the same cost as Youtube TV, so it makes sense to drop YTTV because of both the duplication in services and the cost. Having to switch from one app to watch ABC shows, to another for NBC shows, to another for FOX sports doesn't sound like a convincing argument for others to drop Youtube TV though.

Not sure how it will work. I have YTTV simply for college football in the fall. With YTTV I also get to log in to ESPN and get all of their games. Plus on YTTV I have access to the other games on the other networks. That's actually the main reason I keep YTTV is to see the games on broadcast networks that I can't get on ESPN.

ESPN streaming is absolute garbage. It's also the only way to get the all the sports I want.
