Polk said a lot more than that. He said he will take State out of his will and he will demand that his name be taken off Polk-Dement Stadium "until (Byrne) gets fired or somebody runs him off."</p>

Interestingly, Byrne couldn't do that even he wanted. It would take an act of the state College Board to change the name of the stadium that got its name because of a $1 million gift from the family of the late Gordon DeMent of Indianola. Ironically, Dement, a huge Mississippi State baseball fan, was a great admirer of Polk.</p>

when he went to UGA. I would just take the high road on this one say something like "We understand Coach Polk disagrees with us. However, we plan to continue honoring his contribution to MSU baseball by keeping his name on the stadium." After a while, when the drugs kick in, maybe Ron will come to his senses.

sumbitch hadn't made ANY noise on the national scene since 1985. Hasn't won a game in Omaha since 1997.

Him and Mike Martin (another MASSIVE choke artist) both have named stadiums and zero NC's to show for it.

We were disappointed to still see his name up there.
