that team is pretty much garbage yet they keep winning. Yesterday was insane. If you didn't see they were down 7-2 with 2 outs in the 8th and they tie it up. Then in the 9th with 1 out and runner at 2nd, they hit a ball they would've left the yard but the Fl guy robbed it and threw it in. But the Bama runner tagged and scored from SECOND.

They have Rutledge and Avila. After that, Im just not sure how they are winning.

LSU is playing really well. I think they will host along with Ga and Vandy. Ole Miss is likely in unless they get swept next weekend. I think just one win next weekend and they are in regardless of whether they go to the tourney. And while their lineup is just awful, they're staff is enough to make a 1 seed pissed off that they have ole miss as a 3.

South Carolina is a bigger disappointment than ole miss this year (mainly b/c I didn't buy into the hype of ole miss so its not that surprising to me). They played their way out of hosting and are now working on missing the SEC tourney.

Their RPI is only #46. The two times that State went to a regional without making the SECT, their RPI was #32 in 2004 and #33 in 2006.

If Ole Miss only wins one this weekend and misses the SECT, it would make selection Monday very, very interesting.

If Ole Miss wins only one this weekend and gets swept out of the SECT, I think selection Monday would be a little interesting for them although I think they would still make it.

Does UM need to win more than 1 game this weekend to make the SEC Tourney?

Likely yes, and here is why. If we win only 1 game this weekend, we need one of 4 things to happen:

1) Arkansas loses the series to MSU (I doubt you'll help us here)
2) South Carolina loses the series to UT (possible, but not likely)
3) Florida gets swept by Vandy (possible, but not likely)
4) Alabama gets swept at UGA (possible, but also not likely)

If we only go 1-2 this weekend, and none of those 4 things happens, then we're No. 9 in the SEC and watching the action at Hoover on TV.

I think we're in a regional as long as we make the SEC tourney. If we miss out on the SEC tourney, then it'll be an anxious selection time for the team.

Of course, if we win 2 games at UK, then we lock up an SEC tourney bid and likely an NCAA bid. Win 1, and we're sweating. In a way, I wouldn't be upset if we failed to get an invite to a regional. I think our team has had a sense of entitlement this year, and doing something like missing the NCAA tourney might be enough to let them know that nothing is going to come for free. Sometimes teams/programs need a wake up call. Missing regionals would definitely qualify as a wake up call.

I saw that the SEC Tournament will be broadcasted in HD this weekend. Fox Sports South HD. Of course, I'll have to wait until MSU makes the SEC Tourney again to watch them in HD.

it did nothing for State b/c our coach and our fans would rather rationalize it as a. Everyone competes in the SEC now and b. HOPE scholarships. Losers.

Bianco will say "f this..Im turning it up a notch."

odds are pretty good that you will get in. I doubt you get swept by UK, even though it's on the road. I don't know about you, but I do kind of sense that Bianco is very concerned right now, maybe rightfully so.

I do agree that if Ole Miss makes the SEC Tourney, they get into a Regional, probably as a three seed depending on what they do in the Tournament.

I figure Templeton gets OM in no matter what as a final 17 you to State fans. Let's see who has their meters running today.

He shitcans at least two assitants and replaces them with guys more on par with the likes of Dan McDonnel and Stuart Lake. To me, that's been Mike's biggest mistake since coming to Oxford. He loses two highly regarded assistants and replaces them with former players and a guy from USA. Of course, Reinstetle seemed to have proven himself as a good hitting coach when he was with the Jags. I'm not sure what's going on there. So, I don't really blame him with that hire. I just hope he admits it isn't working out and goes in a different direction after this season. Other than that, stop hiring former players with limited coaching experience. If you want your program to be as good as you claim it is, you can't do that ****, Mike!

That is all.
