I doubt such information is allowed to be shared without the permission of the student-athlete. FERPA.roster does not show majors
Interesting. Not sure of the rule, but I do see all of Maryland sports rosters have them.I doubt such information is allowed to be shared without the permission of the student-athlete. FERPA.
I remember being at a game (over 20 years ago) and the program contained player bio and major. I see some schools have web page with students that show, name, address, email, cell phone and majors. They probably have an opt out choice.Interesting. Not sure of the rule, but I do see all of Maryland sports rosters have them.
Now that has to be a great job for picking up women. “What do you do for a living Jim” she ever so coyly asked. “I’m a top level administrator for FERPA, I compile lists of college kids Majors and Minors” he boastfully replied.I doubt such information is allowed to be shared without the permission of the student-athlete. FERPA.
I wonder why an athlete wouldn't want people to know his major.I doubt such information is allowed to be shared without the permission of the student-athlete. FERPA.
I’d answer you, but I’m very wary of a subpoena from FERPA. I’m sorry but that letter salad cracks me up.is negotiating NIL deals a major?
I wonder why an athlete wouldn't want people to know his major.
why should I care?I wonder why an athlete wouldn't want people to know his major.
I thought you were focused on Proctologists?I want to know which of our guys are rocket surgeons.
why should I care?
roster does not show majors
No. Most of the individual player bios indicate majors. No future rocket surgeons, though Nourzad has an engineering degree from Cornell.roster does not show majors
Gotta admit -little surprised Jimmy Christ is not majoring in Religious Studies.
No need. Born into the vocation.Gotta admit -little surprised Jimmy Christ is not majoring in Religious Studies.
Did someone imply that you (or anyone) should care about this or any topic being discussed on this board?why should I care?
Easy enough to find such information for every player - right on the PSU athletics website (or the website of any other collegiate athletic department I have ever looked at)I doubt such information is allowed to be shared without the permission of the student-athlete. FERPA.
Clearly you don't. However, knowing our athlete's were also serious students gave many of of us a sense of pride in our Dear Old State. Discussion often included the kids major, particularly if it was a STEM major.why should I care?
Dating back to Franklin's first year. haven't signed a single football recruit who earned a degree from the College of Engineering, College of Science, and but a couple from the College of Business (even though those three colleges account for a substantial portion of all degrees awarded at PSU)No. Most of the individual player bios indicate majors. No future rocket surgeons, though Nourzad has an engineering degree from Cornell.
"But, but - RECORD APR NUMBERS!" (usually, erroneously, stated as "record graduation rates") say all the folks who haven't the slightest idea what an "APR number" actually means. C'est la vieIn reviewing the roster, it appears DUS is the primary designation for a major for most players, including upperclassmen, which is kind of interesting.
The SOFA covers everything from behind.A secretarial FUPA was covering the FERPA , so it was never executed .
Let's be chatitable and assume the best. All the upperclassmen with DUS listed as their major have accumulated enough credits to graduate with multiple majors but have not yet made their choices. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.I'm scrolling through the players' majors ... I gave up on looking at Soph or younger. But how do Redshirt Juniors, and Redshirt Seniors have "DUS" listed under major? Isn't that what you list when you have no major? How can you be in school for 4 or 5 years and not have a major? I wonder if it's just not updated (some kids don't even have an option for major listed), or is this a thing at PSU?
This is a good story.Let's be chatitable and assume the best. All the upperclassmen with DUS listed as their major have accumulated enough credits to graduate with multiple majors but have not yet made their choices. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
Man, that’s FUBARA secretarial FUPA was covering the FERPA , so it was never executed .
Don't believe those fellows they haven't stepped into Bob's life ....yetI thought you were focused on Proctologists?
Don’tWhen I was switching majors, the only way for me at the time was to spend a semester in Division of Undergraduate Studies, or as we called it at the time, Dumb Undecided Student.
