That he would announce that he is going to have one. The reports about the dec 22 were void by what he said this weekend by him saying that he will decide in the next ten days. He may infact announce today but you have to think that he is going to tell the media a day before.

I think the longer he waits, the higher our chances become. Since we were the first of his 3 visits, I think the "sex appeal" of the more recent two would wear off. He'd be more likely to make a decision based on the pros/cons of each individual situation vs the image OU and AU can play. Any intangible advantages we have would be weighted more as the time between his recent visits increases. If he announced today, I'd put my money on Auburn. If he announces next Tuesday, I'd say it's a tossup.

I can't see him being recruited by Auburn for a week, visiting campus once, and recruiting the next week. If he's postpones his decision, gives his dad a chance to talk to the coaches, get familiar with everything. etc, it seems much more reasonable for him to choose Auburn.

What kind of recruiting can take place this week? Can Chizik talk to Cam's dad as much as he wants to? Or are there limits?

Granted, I will probably view everything as a bad sign unless and until he signs a loi for state, but I was feeling better when he planned to commit two days after leaving auburn. I just couldn't see Auburn grabbing him out of nowhere like that, at least not without his dad coming on the recruiting visit with him. If Chizik gets another week or two to work on him, seems much more likely.

it will be after christmas...

me:... this will not be a rash decision. They are going to sit down and look at all the options. Surely at some point they will weigh a 3+year relationship with Dan and a month of that auburn recruiter. I do back up off the egg bowl commit now, that was rumor-mill speciality... However, I still think MSU offers Cam more... I guess that could be my maroon glasses, though... we will see in about a week...

It came from Cam's dad, via Paul Jones. Or, as they say, from the horse's mouth?

they would hold the PC at the school he signs with. Bet there will be folks watching close the Newton's travel plans.

They will possibly have a press conference the Monday or Tuesday after Christmas at the school he chooses per Paul from BDJ. He talked to his dad.

man, I never gave much thought about the recruits until this year. Cam knows how to make it frustrating and downright edge of your seat exciting for weeks on end. All in all, I agree with ckDog, as time passes the good time he had at Auburn will fade and he will remember the experience he had with both Mullen at Florida and at the egg bowl. Auburn and certainly Cam knows Mississippi State will both give him a great opportunity to compete for the starting role with a good receiver core. Nothing but solid playing time on an offense that has been waiting for a player with his tremendous skill set to command it.

Auburn has always been a running team, look at what they did with Jason Campbell. He can't throw it to save his life. Mullen can coach quarterbacks. Look at what he has done at every school.
