It’s the annual which is the better Christmas movie. Die hard or lethal weapon?

Die Hard is much lighter fare, almost a comedy, and is more uplifting, imho.

You are right. Lethal weapon deals with a. Darker issue of depression and loneliness during the holiday. As he says “ the silly season”

Equally as good for different reasons...

The relationship between Riggs and Murtaugh is so fun to watch and carries the film all the way to the end. Fantastic acting by Gibson and Glover.

Die Hard had the better villains, fun plot and action sequences so it gets the edge with those areas.

I’m saying anything Alan Rickman is in is awesome. The end.

Bad Moms is now annual Christmas fare. I know its dumb but a bottle of wine and the missus --absurd and adult but funny.

All time Christmas faves...

  1. Christmas Vacation
  2. A Christmas Story
  3. Home Alone
  4. A Charlie Brown Christmas
  5. Eloise at Christmastime (You get great performances from Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, and the delightful Julie Andrews as Eloise's british Nanny who likes a martini or two at lunch....).

The Shop Around The Corner takes pride of place on my list.

Die Hard is on Syfy now. Gruber out to the big lead early. I think he beats McClane this time.

McClane with some nice halftime adjustments. In the end, he blew Gruber out of the building.

This is a Christmas movie, too. The alternate title is The Fight before Christmas
