It really pisses me off that even the suck Ark team goes into Rupp and beats the cats we can't even defend

our home court against Missouri. I feel that this team peaked early! maybe we can catch fire at the end of the season, but i doubt it!

Missouri will make a deep tourney run and probably be a 2 seed.

What is hard to see is that you could have just marked all of our team as absent yesterday other than Hubbard and Murphy. Maybe it's the fatigue of the season hitting, happened to many ranked teams yesterday.

I was so bummed after our game, I didn’t even keep up with other games yesterday. That’s amazing.

This season of college basketball will have surprises till the bitter end. And, with the stack of talent from the SEC, it is the biggest mystery who will stand in the end. Kentucky and Missouri both played lights out ball against us — worst timing for our team to receive. I hope the next 6-7 days can be restful for our legs and help our team regain its edge. All is not lost, but we gotta regroup mentally and physically. Missouri flat out overpowered us, which should have been our strength. I think we are just tired from a tough stretch of games.

Dumb take. Literally everyone plays lights out against us. When you meet a jerk one time, you met a jerk. When you meet jerks all the time, you are the jerk. These teams are not playing lights out. Our defense sucks. It’s clear when you watch us. We want to get beat this way. It’s like Jans coaching a team pre-Curry revolution. If we lost because a big man like Broome dominated inside, it’d be one thing. But we are consistently getting torched from 3. Every team has a guy have his best day ever. And then folks get on here and throw up their hands like, well there’s nothing we could’ve done. Stop trapping. Stop giving up wide open looks. Make them 2 point onto death. The math says that’s a better strategy.

You think that is what opponents are doing to us - giving up the 2 rather than the 3?
For some reason teams respect us from 3 & I guess with Hubbard’s game against bama, I can see why even though he has been struggling & our guards haven’t established themselves as a regular 3 ball threat.
Noticed bama repeatedly gave up or just got beat on the pick & roll to Murphy & have seen us have success with that & back door cuts this season. Makes me wonder if our opponents with more consistent 3 point shooters are defending us to give the 2 because they know they’ve got guys that will knock down the 3 & guys that can get the offensive rebound for another chance.

What sucks is we never get great wins. Our best win this year in SEC play is at Vandy. Other teams supposedly below us get great wins. Arky beating Kentucky, ole miss beating bama at bama, Georgia has at least one. It’s just doesn’t happen to us and it also seems incredibly easy for other teams to come to Starkville and win.

Still a lot of games left to be played.

Your name checks out very well.

There are certainly multiple data points indicating a trend

Maybe we can get you to replace Jans and save the rest of our season**

embarrassed too since Cal is their coach. That may be more embarrassing for them than our loss yesterday?
No doubt (or at least there are more of them). Game/ticket to have of the year and a 1-6 does that with the coach they ran out of town. Guessing BBN not real happy.

I didn't see the game. I was hoping to find out half our team was out with the flu. Then I checked the box score. :poop:
Maybe Hubbard's coming back around........ maybe?
Wow….I didn’t see it. I bet there were a lot of pissed off KY fans leaving the arena. Ha

It was glorious to watch

Can't say I haven't had similar thoughts but had to remind myself we beat #5 TN early & AU late in Jan last year to help set the stage for conference play and unfortunately just haven't had those this year. Winning the first ever ranked match up with OM was a great win at least for me and not sure KY or AL thought their win was incredibly easy. Yesterday's debacle was just a bummer all around.
None of that to say their aren't things that are concerning with the team's performance lately.

It’s the worst body language I’ve seen out of them. Just looked totally out of it. That Bama loss broke them.
If they can’t move past that and get motivated, then they need to find something else to do. They have 9 games left. Nobody feels sorry for them. They are getting paid to show up and give 100 effort every game.

Cool. The fact a nobody like me can see it and we haven’t changed means one of two things:

1. We are limited to such a degree talent wise that we have to play this way to have a chance.
2. We believe the dice have been unlucky and we think the percentages will flip to our favor as the season goes on.

Neither is very reassuring. But we’ll mark you down as a guy who thinks any criticism of our coaches means I think I could do better. What an enlightened idea.***

Pregame it looked like they weren't even awake. Just joking around lazily like they were the NBA world champs and just had to show up to beat this no name team in Starkville

That loss will either serve as a wake up call or start a death spiral. This week is crucial. We don’t have a midweek game and then a game at a mediocre Georgia team. The midweek off comes at a great time. They’d better get their heads together or this season has a chance to go off the rails.

I'm thinking this years sec basketball is typical sec baseball. 3/4 of the league is a top 25 team.

Also State is just undersized. Or at least compared to Alabama and Missouri. That 31 knew Harris nor Hubbard could block his shot. He just pulled up in Harris face whenever he wanted. Down low, 33 was too big for us to handle and he could reach over and block out anyone we put on the court for a rebound. Similar to Nelson for Bama, 25 was difficult for us to handle because of his height and agility.

Bama and Missouri are just more talented than State.
