Looks to me like Arnold will come to State, MVB will transfer out, Shapen the backup next season and Kamario the future. We will get busy in the portal and spend a lot this off season to bring in some high level talent at multiple positions and try the Florida Marlins approach. Then evaluate the money spent vs reward after next year. I'm all for giving it a shot.

Does OU have any linemen that can block or penetrate an O-line as well? Instant playing time!

Ummmm - wat?

Why would we ever want MVB to leave?
We don't want him to leave, word is he is asking 1.5 and Arnold wants to play for Lebby. If JA comes I don't see MVB staying around with Kamario behind him.

So just to be clear, we're letting MVB walk so that we can bring in the only starting SEC QB that actually had a worse QB rating than him this past season? Then we're trusting a guy that's gotten injured every season of his career to be the backup while hoping that Kamario is good with waiting around a year before having a chance to compete for the job.

For this staff, that all sounds about right

He sure didn't have a very good game in the Egg Bowl. But he is a freshman and has a high ceiling. I guess Lebby thinks Arnold is better. Which you gotta realize he was a RS freshman this year.

We are incredibly intentional every day we come in this facility to be the best we can be together. To improve every day. We are building something special and people want to be a part of it from the ground up.

Arnold is asking $1.6M in NIL. I don't think he's coming here. MVB had better numbers on a terrible team, so it doesn't make much sense IMO. But The Great LaNeckbeard may think otherwise.

I get the situation, and how it may play out. I even get that it may make us better if MVB leaves (don't think it will, but I see that it potentially could). BUT - this is what I hate about what we've let CFB become. 10 years ago, MVB would be the face of our team and we would all be excited about getting to watch him mature and represent our team for the next 3 seasons.

I'm just glad this era came after Dak. Can you imagine seeing him at LSU or Bama his Sr year (and maybe his Jr year too)? It's disgusting.

Whatever happens, I wish him well. But I hate that it's even a discussion.

I also hate the fact we never got Dowdell in the boat. He had genuine interest in Mississippi State, but State couldn’t make a deal with him even though there ended up being a second opportunity to do so.

WR Nic Anderson probably coming with Arnold. I know we need to address the trenches too, but, this will be a great start for the portal haul.

MVB isn’t worth 1.5 mil and Arnold isn’t worth 1.6 based on what they’ve done so far. Size is an issue for both and accuracy is a bit of an issue for both.

I’d rather role with Shapen - try to find a capable backup and then spend the extra money on DL.

then hope of injury hits that Taylor can be at least similar to mvb

900K seems to be asking price from Van Buren. Kyle Ferrie’s stepfather saying it’s way less than 900k. I have from multiple people that it’s 900K so I’m sticking with that.

Well you know I'm not saying the kid doesn't have a ton of potential or that he won't be much better next year. I'm just saying his actual performance (to me) doesn't warrant that kind of money. I honestly thought his numbers were better than that. But he did stink it up against OM. We could have won that and you can't put it on the receivers

With Shapen it’s not if it’s when.

I have accepted as long as Selmon is here we will suck at football.
Incredibly dumb on your part. He has been here less than 2 years.

He fired a guy after one year who clearly sucked. He's made 1 football hire. In 4 years, if lebby is still here and we still suck, MAYBE you can make this a definitive statement.

He will have more prestigious schools pursuing him but he eill not have a better situational fit that right here. Lebby will put him in the league. He got a taste of playing for the wrong coach last year. It matters. A great QB in the wrong system with the wrong coach will suck. Those things matter too
