That seems pretty amazing considering he didn't have a championship run, which is where you'd think you get more national publicity. I know he got a lot of pub during the hits countdown but I figure that was mostly SEC people seeing that.

Made a super regional all 4 seasons, two trips to Omaha, and one sec regular season championship. Under 4 different head coaches and in the midst of renovating Dudy Noble into the best venue in college baseball. That was one hell of a 4 year run

Yes it was, he had a hall of fame career. I'm glad the D1 staff voters recognized him for that.

He played 3. 2 at AF and one at LSU. Was a reliever with 11 saves freshman year.
