I wish the NCAA would do away with the term student athlete. The last line just made me laugh.

<h2>Gordon talks about his NBA decision</h2> <div class="snap_preview">

I just talked with Jamont Gordon, who said he still hasn't made a decision on his future.</p>

Of course, he's got three options.</p>

First, he can return for his senior season at Mississippi State. Second, he can leave for the NBA. Third, he can test the waters, not hire an agent and return to MSU if he feels he needs another year.</p>

As for why he hasn't yet determined his future, he said, "It's a big decision. It will change everything about me. Do I go to school, or do I leave school to get ready for the draft? It's tough."</p>

He has until April 27 to enter the draft, while the deadline to remove his name is June 16 - 10 days prior to the draft.</p>

"It may come down to the 26th," he said. "So, I still got a little time to think things over."</p> <p style="font-weight: bold;">He's currently at home in Nashville working out, and he's not sure when he'll return to Starkville.</p> </div>

When Lawrence Roberts was going through this process, did he completely skip out on class? I can't remember...

But that's pretty funny

What about the current Spring semester... I din't think examines had been taken yet... I could be way off on that but, if not, did he not finish his current semester courses...</p>

but one has to think once we lost to Memphis, he hasn't been in Starkville since. And that's fine. I don't blame Jamont but the NCAA just needs to realize that school is the least of these players concerns. And if he does decide to come back, I am sure he will be eligible after missing at least 3 weeks of class.

That's the point. Obviously he isn't going to any classes currently, which means he's probably going pro. It still cracks me up watching NCAA tourney press conferences where they keep referring to the players as "the student athletes". They say it a bunch, whenever referring to the players. It's all because they still want to keep up the farce. Just drop it already and admit they are hired hands that make money for the school so that the school can attract more real students and at the same time help keep the alums connected to the university.

Any normal student would have to withdraw for the semester if they missed 3 weeks of classes.
Jamont is off to Europe, I hope he took some foreign language classes the past 2.5 years in Vegas.</p>

Going through pre-draft workouts, camps, etc. is pretty much a full-time job. As someone mentioned, Lawrence Roberts did the same thing. I'd say there's a good chance that even if Gordon does come back, he may not be eligible for the fall semester.

Will he come back? Who knows. It really boils down to whether he'd rather take the 2nd round draft slot and try to make a team for league minimum or come back to school to try to move up to the 1st round next year for the big payoff.</p>

Depends on what he is taking and what he is missing. He may not be taking much this semester just for the simple fact that he was going to miss it.
