being a good college point guard = pro success?

No one. Fishwater just has to be right, no matter how many times he changes what he says. Or, no matter how many times he changes what other people actually say.

I can't recall a single poster on here saying Jamont is going to be a good NBA player. However, it is getting older than Davy Crockett's buckskin rubber hearing some of you taking shots at Jamont. Regardless of what his pro future is, no one on our team played harder or shouldered more of the load this season than Jamont. He is ONE of the best to ever wear the maroon and white yet all some of you do is ***** and moan as if he were the reason we did not do better. Hell after a while I would not have kicked it out to Ben and Barry either with the number of bricks they were launching late in the season.

fishwater is under the weather, and luckily for us, his brother has graciously volunteered to command his message board duties until he feels better....

I've gotten pissed at him just like everybody else has about his tendency to sometimes go Teen Wolf and play 1 vs. 5. But usually when he's done that it's been because Rhodes was daydreaming that game and nobody else on the team could make a shot. As you say, at least Jamont has pretty much always played with effort and tried to do what it took to win the game. And as I've said before, when you're as good as Jamont is (and Rhodes too), you'd damn well better be a little bit selfish. Because if you're not, you're hurting the team.

of (college) sports does one's draft potential at a position (pg) have to do with how well they've done/are doing at said position in college?

Bottom line, Charles and Jamont carried the team in the 2nd half of the season, with a nice scoring boost at times from Jarvis. If you think otherwise, then you are delusional. We got help from Ben or Randy at times when one of them decided to show up, neither unfortunately during the same game.

Let's all pat Ben for beating SC all by himself, which obviously wouldn't have happened if Jamont hadn't fouled out (/sarcasm), but come on, all of you anti Jamont losers are getting ridiculous.

School is in session, Jamont is in Nashville, and may be back next year.
Ben is in Starkville attending class and wont be back.

Only at MSU.

Charles and Jamont carried the team in the 2nd half of the season,

Swat was the MVP of this team 1st or 2nd half, without him, MSU is struggling to get into the NIT.
His presence inside completely changed the way games were played against MSU.

The village idiot strikes again. Fishwater no matter how ignorant you sound, you always seem to out do yourself with your next post. It is truely amazing

but without Jamont as well, we are NIT. Basically, without either Jamont, Charles, or Jarvis, we are NIT bound.

Namely JR, Peaches, and fishwater.

I've got two words for you fishwater: Christian Laettner. Great college player, hit one of the biggest shots in NCAA Tournament history, won back to back titles with Duke. Was he a great pro? Nope. I'll give you a modern example: Tyler Hansbrough is arguably the best player in the nation but many think he'll last 3-4 years in the pros before washing out. Does that lessen his college career which has been fantastic? Absolutely not. You see, college and professional leagues are different. The typical way to play is different, the competition is different, the rules are different in most cases, excelling at one level doesn't ensure excellence at the next level. We didn't retroactively go back and name Vince Carter an elite college basketball player because he blew up in the NBA. Danny Wuerrfel's inability to make it in the NFL doesn't lessen his stellar college career. Papelbon's success at Boston doesn't improve his college career, which was pretty modest by comparison. Success at one level should be viewed separately from success at a different level.

I still find myself asking if you guys can post something without exaggeration and the answer is still no.

You also heard that the Delks were mean to Ben and once they left everything was hunky dory.

Based on your track record, bye, bye Jamont.

The two comments are not mutually exclusive. I never said things were "hunky dory." I said there were conflicts between them and Ben. They were also making demands for more playing time when performance dictated that they may have less. As for the possibility of Jamont's return, I heard it from someone inside the Athletic Department.
