Javier Vazquez to the Yankees?

SOunds like the Yankees are about to make a trade for him sending Melky Cabrera, and Mike Dunn to Atlanta

They really wanted to keep Vazquez, but they had to trade one. Might as well get a pretty good player in return.

cabrera is terrible.

I can see no one wanting Lowe's contract, but damn, that doesn't mean give away Vazquez.

He has a strong arm, plays pretty good outfield. He is streaky at the plate, but has become a little more consistent over the last couple of years, and always seems to come up with some pretty big hits. I was actually hoping the Yankees would start the season with him in LF

.274, 13 HR, 68 RBI's from a guy that plays good outfield isnt bad for 1.4 million dollars

but the braves really need offense and they just traded away a front line starter for a cheaper francouer.

that's not exactly a great move.

Hopefully the money freed up gets a better bat.

Hell, most people are talking about Cabrera simply being a placeholder for Heyward and Freeman.

I think that was their plan from the beginning
