Shockey was traded to New Orleanns for the 2nd and 5th round picks. I think it is a good pick up for the Saints. They have not had an athletic TE for as long as I can remember. And not to mention, those trashy *** fans in south Lousiana are going to love him.

On one hand, he's got the potential to really open up the offense. He's athletic, he's a playmaker, he can block, and he's probably the best tight end the Saints have had in quite a while. But on the other, he's injured a lot, he's a bit of a whiner, he's an overpriced free agent, and the Giants all of a sudden were terrific when he wasn't playing. Plus, if he sucks *** with the Saints, that's two draft picks wasted. And the fact that he sat in the skybox during the Super Bowl instead of being on the field didn't help my perception of him any.

Somebody convince me that this is good or bad. The Saint fan in me hopes this turns out great, but the Saint fan in me tells me it won't.

He had a pretty damn good rookie season when Peyton was the oc for the Giants. He fits in to the Saints offense really well, and he really likes Peyton. I'm gonna be optimistic and say this is going to work out great for the Saints if the stays healthy.
