this is SC last year, and he can play a role for this team - no question. However, he has been injured every year, and that has led him to not be able to play at even his normal level. In the past, JF has played QBs injured and at far less than their normal output, and when there could be a viable backup. Did it with Trace (over Tommy) and Sean (over Will). an injured QB at 50% is not likely better than your backup, unless you are in trouble (2021 season).

we now have a 4 QB roster and have people who could come in for SC when hurt. Will JF change and sub for SC if he gets hurt and is not close to normal? In the past, he has let SC stay in even when injured. Hoping that he changes this year.

I thought I saw QB2 play when QB 1 was unable to in this game? Did I miss something?

QB1 was hooked up to an IV, so it kind of took the decision making out of Franklin's hand as QB1 couldn't trot on out to the field with tubes in his arm. But the jury is still out on what Franklin will do this season if/when QB1 is physically injured but still able to walk out onto the field.....

a chance to take a gratuitous shot at CJF?

winning is hard on some people here

They say, “Act like you’ve been there before.” Well, I’ve never won anything before in my life.

I thought I heard Franklin say he was going to play many players this year and he certainly did in the first game. Why should we not believe him? I also think he chose Allar as QB2 when many were sure it was going to be CV.

the guys on Paydirt actually talked about this in their pre-game analysis. Both were convinced that Allar would play as QB2 in a blowout game, but if it was a situation like Iowa last year, it would be CV. I did not think that JF would do that, so playing DA seemed in line with what he said. Thursday was more like the Rutgers game as SC was not able to be on the field.

I am mainly talking about the situations where SC might be limping and hard to throw or run. In the past, QB1 has stayed in the game as long as he could walk. Just saying now they have options that seem decent, so there is no need to use a QB that is operating well below normal. This is not a shot at JF, as I think he feels that a starter even injured is a better option. Everyone to their opinion, and each coach handles differently.

I hear what you are saying and agree that QB2 should have received more meaningful game reps the past few years. Cliff was not 100% in the second half of this game and I’m glad he was in for the final drive
