That first timeout - wouldn’t the clock have been running? It was a running play followed by injury timeout iirc. With something like 1:40 left I assumed he called it because he figured om would have let the clock run down when they restarted the play clock

Yes. It drove me crazy that the announcers kept going at him. He called the timeout because ole miss would have run almost all the time off of the play clock before running the play. He called the timeout to have more time on aTm’s drive

He used a TO on the dead ball prior to OM’s last touchdown.

I swear that was on a dead ball. If I’m wrong, rail away. Jimbo still sucks.

It was after his players faked injuries, and the clock was starting on the whistle. I believe it actually ran a second before he called it. The play before both Ole Miss and A&M screwed up. A&M didn’t call a time out when they should have, and Ole Miss snapped it with 20+ seconds still on the play clock.

What are the chances he gets fired this year?
$76 million is the buyout. So, given where he coaches, probably 50/50.

Seems like there’s no way they’d be able to fire him, but Sumlin got something like $30 million, and got ALL OF IT as soon as he was canned. The buyout is going to keep being massive for 6-7 more years and you know they’re not going to wait that long for a change.

Sucks. Wasted a timeout under two minutes, then ran out of time. Lots of other examples. Our coach sucks, but at least we’re spending less.
This is what makes me not so down this season: we could be paying out money like aTm for coaches and players and get embarrassed on the field. They're the biggest losers of the SECW.

They are light years better than we are. Overpaying out the yaya....but they will take some frustration out on us

It looked like a dead ball because they took so long to start the play clock/game clock So it looked like he called TO with a stopped clock but he didn’t. I think he was actually waiting to see if the game clock would start before calling it.

The buyout will not be an obstacle; aTm has more $$$ than God. They will especially not be reluctant with Texas coming into the league next year, AND the shorthorns being on the rise.
I understand the amount of money they have, but they have to pay a $75ish mil buyout to current staff, then say they want Lane Kiffen. They would have to pay his buyout, $30ish mil, then pay him $10mil/year. That's a big pill, no matter how much money they have.

Say what you will about Jimbo, but he absolutely stole those scenes he was in with Gene Wilder...

The difference is our coaches are new and will probably be a good head coach one day. Jimbo isn't getting any better.
