Auburn seems likely for the Alabama native.

I mean, Auburn is 3-0 and ranked, so can't dont think "likely" is the word. Although their next 3 games are as tough as any 3 game stretch this year. But at this point Freeze probably only needs to win 3 SEC games and his gimme to win 7 and keep his job. 6 and a bowl win may even it since it's just year 3 and that'd be YOY improvement.

Sure they're 3-0 and ranked - but they've played 2 give mes and a Baylor team, who may or may not be that good. If they lose to Oklahoma - they will most likely be on course to lose 6 games this season and unlike UK - they will fire Freeze if he fails to get over the 6 win hump at Auburn in his 3rd season.

So Auburn is a school I would definitely watch out for when it comes to CJS landing a SEC HC position.

Unfortunately, we were coming off probation and UK wanted a "clean" coach to move forward and Schellenberger was coming from Miami with all their baggage. We were more concerned with BB and just hoping football had no red flags. But I wanted Howard then and wish we had the fore cite and interest in football to hire him.

Ole Miss. After Lane himself takes the Florida job.

I don't have a clue what Lane will do, but he is at the top of UF's wish list and they will make a run at him, who knows what Kiffin will do. As for Sumerall, don't think he will be high on their list be cause they have gone the group head coach a couple times and it hasn't worked out. Drink is high on their wish list along with Cignetti at Indiana. After his speech did week Dabo might be looking for work.

I’m barely hanging on as a UK football fan. Stoops isn’t turning anything around. Now, maybe it’s just not possible to win big at UK with the way things are going with NIL and everything else. But, keeping Stoops tells me UK is not serious about winning at a high level. The curse of having good football fans that will mostly fill the stadium even when the team isn’t great is that there is no incentive for the school to make changes.

I get that Stoops has a large buyout. But as a fan, I don’t really care. If the product is not good and also not fun to watch, I will find other things to do with my time. Maybe Sumrall can’t do any better at UK, that’s possible. But we already know what we’re going to get with Stoops and frankly I’m not much interested in that any more. If UK misses on Sumrall that would be a shame. I get why it might happen, but much like Schnellenberger, I would always wonder how things might’ve been different with him as coach.

Maybe Vandy. Their coach is the bell of the ball right now. I can see him fielding some decent offers this off season.

Dores are a great gig, in a great city. Not a lot of pressure that some of the other potential SEC gigs will come with.

They’ve had two very good coaches who built a winning culture in very short order in the last 15 years. That’s actually very impressive for a lower tier program in a P4.

So there is clearly something about that gig that can spark and get hot.

He's definitely going to get some interest. So is the coach at Vandy and Cignetti at IU.

For Lea and Cig - it's going to take an elite P4 program to remove them from their current positions imo. They have the perfect job - they are in the top 2 P4 conferences, at programs with low expectations for FB and they are winning. No one is leaving that unless they're walking into a program that can be an immediate NC contender (like the former Vandy coach).

Plus the obviously relaxed their admissions and scholastic requirements. That's a massive boost to their revenue teams.

Will be interesting to see if they can keep him or their oc. The oc is really the difference maker. I cant believe we passed him over for bush.

Lea is a Vandy grad, it seems they have lightened their restrictions on athletes getting accepted. If and this is a huge if, Vandy gets to 9 wins and makes a little run at making the playoffs it might be hard to get him away from Vandy.

These things don't make me "sick to my stomach" but probably the biggest miss imo was not bringing Snellenberger back to UK!
It is Schnellenberger. Could you guys please learn to spell the names of the coaches you are so convinced are or were superior to our actual hires? Hindsight is of course 20/20 but Claiborne (College FB HOF inductee) and Curry (fresh off winning the SEC) were very solid hires at the time.

Wow man, have you ever thought about taking a break from this board, no one can post anything that doesn't seem to bother you. I spelled a man's name wrong, how awful!

You and others have misspelled Schnellenberger, Sumrall, and Spurrier just today. I don't see where my request was any big deal or why it should bother you enough for this reply.

He'll be at Florida it looks like. Stoops gets another year and likely 2 more barring total collapse. If Stoops can't turn it around UK fb is totally screwed for many years. Blame it all on the contract.
I think it’s more likely Kiffin winds up at Florida and Sumrall or Golesh take Ole Miss. Don’t forget about Mullen. I think there’s a chance his name surfaces in all of this.

In the era of the transfer portal and NIL, things can turn around in one offseason. To say they are screwed for many years to come just isn’t accurate with how things are done in college sports today.

Freeze ain’t going anywhere unless his health gets him. They totally got screwed yesterday. Darned near beat a really good OU team in Norman. He will be just fine.
