heard a comment on ESPNU today that JT Daniels is in the transfer portal. when he transferred from USC to UGA, did he already sit out a year? If not, he would have to sit out next year, correct? I know there was a thread a couple days ago referring to the fact that the players right to transfer and play right away is only good ONE time. There may be other guys in the portal who this would be their 2nd transfer, so would have to sit. I assume that this is clear when the coaches are talking to these guys.

First I heard of that. I was under the impression there were no rules in CFB anymore. I wouldnt be surprised if he was eligible immediately.

Maybe Grad transfer now?

Someone will sue and that rule will be changed.

Pretty much and IMO we need a lot more help OT, C and especially LBR.
LBR is scary thin.
Hopefully our new linebacker coach can teach fundamentals to the young guys and we'll see an improvement at the position. 😉

Looks like he will be a Grad Transfer and has 2 years of eligibility left - Injuries have really hurt his career so far but he has skills.

We got our transfer QB in Cliff. If you bring him in to back up Cliff chances are CV and one of the freshman portal out. Having 2 super seniors QB on the roster is just dumb. Either way, this is moot. He's not transferring anywhere to ride the bench.

Stetson Bennett is Trace McSorley who played with top 3 talent and benefit from Bamas top 2 WRs getting injured.

With the offensive line, the RB and TE talent UGA has, the fact they never played JT Daniels after a certain point means something. If he was remotely a 1b option instead of a #2, he'd have seen the field.

You can pray for all the QB portal players you wish, but the word seems to be that Daniels healthy is comparable to injured Clifford.

Agree. Must have misinterpreted your initial post.

Not sure he would back up Clifford, awful high opinions of Cliffords play that I just don't see, but to each their own, one more yr of him regardless.

I just want an honest competition at QB this Spring and Fall.
So your conclusion is that there haven't been honest competitions in the past because Clifford was named the starter I take it. Despite his faults, I think Clifford is/was better than Stevens and Levis.

That's not my conclusion. CJF never brought in the number one QB in the country before. If Clifford gets beat out or it's neck and neck, I'd rather see DA play. Why play it safe? He's one transfer away from starting for tOSU.

I’d like to see Allar play early too but the key word is if he shows better in practice. We can agree to disagree on Clifford vs Stevens or Levis but neither of the latter two showed that they were better than Clifford when they got to play PSU fan for 60 years and it’s amazing how many fans favorite players during all those years is the back up QB.

Stevens couldn't stay healthy and after what Levis did last yr after getting away from Franklin, not sure SC is better. Water under the bridge now obviously, hoping Allar is the real deal, need a difference maker under center..
