Man was one of the top players when it came NIL and left us after he saw coach DLo dial up plays to put the ball in the receiver hands? I don’t get it.

That last part only matters if the money came from people stupid enough to contribute to collectives. Let him screw the people he actually provided services for.
This is true. In that sense, it doesn't affect me. But shoddy character always bothers me.

I'm not naive enough to believe that until the advent of the portal, college football players were uniformly high character individuals. But the system now, as you said, fosters, encourages, rewards...even celebrates...poor character.

That was very unethical on his part. I hope the NCAA does something about all this portal and NIL mess, during the offseason. The system is broken.
Someone on TOS was saying that a lot of his NIL was tied to appearances and other actions. He stopped doing them bc he blamed our medical staff for clearing him in the UGA game. He stopped doing the appearances and felt like he should have been paid regardless. That's what created the dissention between JW and USC. When he didn't get what he thought he would in the market, he came back and asked what could be done to keep him here. He was given that and ultimately decided it wasn't worth whatever Beamer laid out for him, so he left.
Not gonna say anything negative about him, but damn sure ain't going to wish him luck.

The big spur. They have a different format. They don't have an insider forum. They just have one football forum and members that pay can post pay only messages. And you have to pay to post as well.
Remember the day - when no matter how good you were, you played for a free college education, room and board, and all the extras like medical care etc. And back then it was relatively cheap compared to today's tuition costs. Getting to the point where even H.S. is no longer amateur athletics. Old timers like me miss the "good old days".

That said, CFB is just minor league football now. Very similar to MLB farm system, but with an education provided. Surprised the NFL teams haven't jumped on board and "sponsored" teams for their "system."
