Just an astonishing level of ineptitude for this football team.

So much fail across the board. Some wonderful anecdotes:

- We scored the most points of any SEC game against UGA…31 points. If we scored this exact total in EVERY conference game, we still would have gone only 1-7 in SEC play. We would have only won the Egg Bowl.

- We allowed the fewest points of any SEC game today….26 points. If we allowed this exact total in EVERY conference game, we still would have gone only 2-6 in SEC play. Would have won only the Florida and UGA games.

- We lost every single SEC game by double digits.

Unless you are at or near retirement age, this is the worst MSU team in any major sport that you’ve ever seen. This team not only lost 10 games…..they were nowhere close to winning any of them. Just a pathetic bunch of losers from the top down.

It’s been said before and should be said again, there wasn’t a single silver lining to this shítshow. Not a single thing you can look at and say “that gives me a some hope for the future.” Not a single reason or justification at all for Lebby or any of the staff to remain employed after midnight tonight. Offense sucked, defense really sucked, and everyone knows that its a waste to even attempt a Year 2 with this bunch of clowns.

Which makes next year feel even more grim. There isn’t a single reason to feel good about any game going forward. Who knows what losing season ticket sales are gonna look like.
Just pathetic all around.

No, he died when we had no AD and he left us no talent and burned recruiting bridges in MS. But carry on
It’s not his fault he died. he left us with a veteran 9-4 roster with 8 home Games. The “burned bridges fairy tale” was started by the same boosters who fired Leachs staff and hired Arnetts staff.

it’s not Leachs fault the last two staffs are bad and we haven’t brought in a single portal player in two years.

That team last year might have won 6 games with a coach. This ain't last year and there was no talent left. The best players are the ones Lebby brought in.

And the defense last year was average. And it was only average bc 5 Mullen recruits came back. And our 6th best player was A Moorhead recruits came. Thats insane to me.

Because it's called a 17ing rebuild. Leach and Arnett left us nothing here to work with. This is a three year job at best.
It was a rebuild for Arnett too, you jackasś. There wasn’t shít for talent on last year’s team, either. Even rebuilds are supposed to have SOME bright spots. And these days with the portal, the lack of talent is no longer an excuse. Its on the coaches to go after the players they need, and on the boosters to make it happen. Arnett sucked and was hopeless….Lebby sucks and is also hopeless. Their fate should be the same.

The 2023 team with Leach coaching it might win six games ?

A rebuild for Arnett ? About 70% of a 9 and 4 team ran it back with their covid year. Which is another part of the problem. We had the same DL for about 4 years. When they ran out of eligibility the cupboard was bare. We are gonna struggle for another year or two and that's if these coaches are any good. They may never get it together but we will be riding with them for 3 years minimum. We aren't firing them even tho I see no positives either. At all.

It was 100% a rebuild year. We hired the one guy who could win somewhat consistently at the P4 level without elite talent, because of the system he ran and the way that he specifically ran it. And we’re not a school that gets a lot of elite talent, especially now. So he came here, got the mediocre players here that were still tailor-made for the system, and he won with them. But then he died, as did his system. Yet the mediocre talent remained. Arnett was given the reins by the admin. He could have tried to keep some semblance of the Leach offense in place. He ultimately elected not to do that. Could have been the wrong move, but either way it was going to be a major rebuild in some capacity. And as the head coach (not interim coach….HEAD coach), it was Arnett’s move to make, because that’s the title and responsibility that Keenum and crew gave to him. They then decided they did not like what he did in that role, and decided to fire him after only 10 games. And that was fine. But ultimately you have to apply that same standard moving forward. If you’re gonna fire a guy at 4-6, you damn sure better be making the same move at 2-10 when there’s been even fewer indicators of any form of success.

And also, saying we “had the same DL for about 4 years” is the ultimate backhanded compliment about how good that DL actually was. In the SEC, if you have the same DL for that long, it means those guys aren’t very good. And it wasn’t just 4 years….more like 5 or 6 for some of those guys. Might mean a little more if we played in the MAC or some shít, but we don’t. In this league, if you don’t have multiple guys EVERY YEAR on your DL that aren’t 3-year guys that are eventual early round picks, you’re well below average for the neighborhood that we’re in.

Perd nails it.

State screwed up making Arnett, HC. Should have kept the interim tag and required him to keep Leach's staff for Leachs roster. Then State screwed up again firing Arnett only to replace him with a green HC. An experienced HC was needed, Sumrall or Odom would have been much better choices.

However, here we are. you have to eat it now. I say you don't fire anyone. Even the DC. Save the buyout money. Because you are facing a brutal schedule in 2025. Lebby, Hutz and the roster can all be much improved next year and still only win 3-5 games with that schedule. Then in December of 2025 check the landscape, recruiting and temperature of the fans and make a decision.

I agree it was a rebuild due to the fact he changed everything that team was built to do. That was his mistake. He had a team with some talent and a ton of experience. Basically the same guys just won 9 games. Most of those guys bolted. The administration and the head coach 17ed it up monumentally last year. Lebby is starting from scratch. Hopefully they can add some more talent to what we have. Firing people would be another colossal mistake.

Unless that guy fired is Hutzler. Who the 17 will want to come play under him? We’d have to pay 2024 OM money for a much less talented class.
Inspire hope and optimism with some quality hire and they’ll come.

You guys ***** about anything. Leach didn’t have the type of lineman for blocking and running only quick throw the ball by the count of 3. When he died we lost some players, then NIL and Annette was not prepared, what do you do in December at the last minute When you lose a coach? NIL caught us flat footed and now we have to rebuild and hope we can keep the better players. How many of you contribute to fund our players? Yes it will take some time but Lebby was not left with many good players and we need everyone to just draft to NIL every month even if it’s $25.

Let Lebby spend as much money as he wants even though next year's schedule looks just as difficult. If there's no improvement, we can at least say that was another bad decision. Or tell Lebby to find Vandy-type players, coach them up to 4-5 wins and then he'll have some money to spend.

Bingo.....

with the exception of Coleman, I'll give Lenny that one. He's hitting about 0.050.
