he was getting some notice by the media at the 7-7 drills. Had an injury and was limping. hope this is not serious. hate to see guys who might contribute next year get hurt at a meaningless game.

If someone is a junior in high school and shows promise, then he should opt out of all future high school, college, and NFL games. He should just move right to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. No player should ever risk injury. Of course, they should receive a full college scholarship with all the side benefits that players get along with their projected NFL salary of somewhere around $500 million.

That sounds all well and good, but for the love of god they shouldnā€™t show up at the ceremony. There are steps leading up to the stage. A man could could stub a toe on the way to the podium. Safer to just stay home and Zoom in an acceptance speech.

Good point. Also, while in college they should be placed in a plastic bubble while in class so that nobody drops a book on them. They should not have to touch books or paper so as to avoid paper cuts. These athletes need to avoid any injury at all costs.

In another thread, I questioned why he didn't opt out. It seems he should have.

Seriously, do you realize how stupid this post sounds?

Really? Of course I don't intend for people to take my post literally. Don't you understand the use of hyperbole in writing? Plenty of other people use hyperbole on this message board to make their points in more interesting and provocative ways than just stating cold facts or opinions. I might use it more than most, especially when I discuss the pitters.

I would be willing to bet anyone with 2 or more functioning brain cells got it.

as the OP, my view is the selfish for PSU view. these are all early enrollees, and some could have impact on the team in 2022. hate so see anything interfere with their progress when entering our program. I was not trying to cause a controversy. obviously, these guys know the risks, and it is their decision - so they may not consider these meaningless games. you can get hurt even in non-contact practices, and they know this and am sure they realize the potential impact.

Poe's law... I got it, but then again, I live my life on the razor's edge between sarcasm and brutal honesty

People with only 2 functioning brain cells would not understand anything. Other than for some members of this board, it takes billions and billions of brain cells for even rudimentary thought ... oh wait, that was hyperbole again, wasn't it?
