The goal is to make a regional. That's all I'm hoping for this season.

I would take that Regional all day. DBU has a nice park, too. Small, but nice.

Agreed. Currently, the SEC is projected to have nine teams make regionals and we're the ninth.

Also of note: Ole Miss is a 2-seed at Notre Dame.

Southern Miss is a 2-seed at Louisville... and they're opposite Arkansas where Louisiana Tech is also a 2-seed.

A part of me is hoping for chaos and a C-USA Grudge Throwdown Super Regional between LaTech and Southern Miss.

Wierd. BA has them as 8th overall. Which really doesn’t make sense with an RPI in the 20s right now.

Sub-thread - what's the minimum record in your opinion to make the tournament?

For OOC, we have what's below:
UAB
Jackson State
Ole Miss
North Alabama
Samford
and 7 SEC series (26 more games).

Currently 18-12 (4-5).

I'm thinking if 4-1 OOC with a 13-17 SEC Record - we at least make it. That puts us at 31-25. Does that get us in?

Warren Nolan is thinking almost the same as you (big difference is WN is thinking we win the Governor's Trophy and therefore be 5-0 OOC) and that would mean a 56 RPI.

Link

I'd rather be at 14-16 in conference play at least.

Also, DBU is a beatable #1 seed. Yes, I'd take that Regional all day, every day.

If one of those 13 wins is a win over UTenn, we might get in to a regional. Otherwise, 14 is the absolute minimum.

I can promise you that this year in Hoover we will not try to get run ruled.

Heh. Yeah. The predicted RPI went up to 53 but the overall record & conference record went down to 29-27 & 12-18 in less than an hour.

Yeah, that predictor is garbage. It projects us to take 2 from LSU, split 4 with Mississippi, but lose to Jackson St. WTF?

If we do that then it will very much be 50/50 and we will be sweating out the selection show. I think we might need a win or two in Hoover at that point.

14-16 should do the trick as far as getting in without needing to win in Hoover.
