This is what a lot of people don't understand. The 11:00 ESPN game is a huge game. It just used to be taken by a Big 10 game, so for the SEC the 11:00 games were the throwaway games. But now, we're going to see a lot of big SEC games played at 11:00.11am is the 3rd most prime spot after 230 CBS and 6pm ESPN
I will buy this concept when Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas, & Oklahoma start playing their BIG home conference games @ 11:00.This is what a lot of people don't understand. I get LSU being there and why they would want a good game there. But why in the hell would we play Southern at 11am on SEC+?? That is what's 17ing ********. Once there are enough games scheduled that you are on SEC+, let the school schedule it when it's best for them. That is 17ing infuriating that they would screw over fans for basically zero benefit for eyeballs.11am is the 3rd most prime spot after 230 CBS and 6pm ESPN
11:00 is still the #3 time slot, so they'll continue to get the primetime and mid-afternoon game. But the #3 game essentially gets moved from 6:30 on ESPN2 to 11:00 on ESPN.I will buy this concept when Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas, & Oklahoma start playing their BIG home conference games @ 11:00.
My guess is that we asked for 11am with the Egg Bowl 5 days laterI get LSU being there and why they would want a good game there. But why in the hell would we play Southern at 11am on SEC+?? Starting in 2024, it could be even more pronounced. Could see 11am games on ABC, ESPN, etc.11:00 is still the #3 time slot, so they'll continue to get the primetime and mid-afternoon game. But the #3 game essentially gets moved from 6:30 on ESPN2 to 11:00 on ESPN.

We arent alone in that. The SEC coddles LSU's nigh game egoI get the time slot stuff but I dont think we have played a morning game in Baton Rouge since 2006.
I think 11:00 A.M takes away a lot of the home field advantage. I think the SEC pushed it.
