2022 #1 overall recruit Walter Nolen via A&M is Ole Miss bound - I’ve come to the conclusion that Carolina will on average be a 6 win team regardless of the NIL money - just a FACT

Doesn’t even phase me. For me, college football is about the total package for a coach. Can you recruit? Can you develop talent? Can you hire a good assistants? Can you coach?

Just building a super team from the portal takes all the fun out of it. I I have zero interest in watching teams that are just Frankensteins of bits and pieces from other teams.

Kiffin is the front end loader of the NIL. He scoops up more people that almost anybody. Somebody needs to be studying him.

Kiffin is a proven winner. His teams have won 10 or more games in a season 5 different times. Ole Miss definitely lucked out. Hope we can one day say the same re: Beamer.

Looking a lot like Jimbo's TAM roster - lots of talent, but what kind of ''team'' will it translate to on the field.

We finished 18th in Portal Recruiting and 19th in high school recruiting That's OK. Our average star high school ranking was 13th, which I think is good. But, we are bringing in a small number of high school recruits. What's up with that? The selling point in hiring Beamer was that he is some sort of super duper recruiter. I'm not sure he is living up to that, imho.

And it looks like he is staying the course with his staff. That surprises me. He better be right.

If assembling talent was the recipe for success, Jimbo would have several championships. The same could be said about Ohio State. Coaching, developing talent and having a good staff is as important as assembling talent.

Sort of eliminates the argument that we can't win because we don't have enough money. Mississippi has some wealthy donors, but is not one of your richest states by a long shot.

Money is one factor but it isn't the only one. Realistically, top players want to go to winning programs not .500 programs.

The best coaching in the world can't ascend the heights with sub-championship caliber coaching.

Word salad?
Not so. Go back to the BCS era and review until now. Who won the national championship without top tier talent? Yet Chizik coached one of those teams. Jimbo coached one of those teams. Ditto Mack Brown.
