So he’s getting sued by a former player who claims to have been suffering from depression when Lane kicked him off the team for not showing up to meetings. Not saying Kiffin was wrong, but he’ll damn sure be wrong when this is played on the recruiting trail!!

I get it. I just see him as a coach that will aggressively chase victory. He has a great offensive mind.

He may move on to better things, but he'd make us better in the meantime.
I see what you're saying, but I don't think he could do anything here. If he would bolt in the middle of the night at utjrjr then he would bolt in broad daylight here, flip us off while cashing our check on the way out. **** him.

If the kid just stopped showing up and wouldn't respond to people trying to contact him (I'm assuming) then what the heck would you expect the coach to do? I can't just stop showing up to work and expect everything to be OK when I decide to return. Maybe being off the team is what is best for the young man. I'm no Lane Kiffin fan (although I do love the Tosh.O skits), but I'm not convinced he would lose this one. I guess it depends on what court it's heard in.

Mental health is important, obviously. It's got to be taken seriously. But it seems it's all too often used as an excuse for not doing what you're supposed to be doing.

While true, I've let plenty of people go for similar reasons. Want to know how many I was a dick to? Zero. There's no reason to be an a-hole about it. Especially from a guy that spends every day peddling "positive vibes" on twitter. Dude is a phony. I don't think he's wrong for kicking the guy off the team. I do think how he handled it is going to be an issue for him on the trail.

I'm pretty sure every knew Kiffin was an a--hole before this.

This kid is out of his mind (literally). $40M (including lost wages)?!?! Sorry, but you don't get a payout because someone was mean to you. And dude probably has $1M in lifetime earnings at most in his future.

The school and Kiffin filed motions to dismiss today. I could see it being thrown out as there really doesn't seem to be any actionable items in there. But we'll see what the judge has to say - I didn't read all the pleadings, just the summaries.

I agree in theory, but do we know what the conversation was prior to the recording? What did the player say to Kiffin?

That doesn't necessarily justify Kiffin's reaction, but it might explain it.

We'll see if it hurts recruiting, but I'll be surprised if it does anything.

The kid has nothing to do with the 40 million number or the lawsuit in general. That's lawyers who will be going against lawyers and its all about money. The kid probably hasn't even given an opinion to anyone LOL. This is the world we live in and Kiffen needs to be a little smarter on when and how he runs his mouth even if I am on his side in heart.

Very few teams can tolerate an a--hole for a coach.
Maybe short term if he wins some games, but not for the long run.

I don't know. I think teams are very forgiving when he's "their a-hole".

Like us with Spurrier.

Never considered Spurrier an a--hole, even when at FL.
Kiffen is no Spurrier, and if he's trying to be he's failing miserably.

Is this him/her

Lol…..classic today’s young adults. You would hope this girl…yes I said girl…..is an outlier. Sadly, she is more of the norm.

My late uncle, who fought with Patton at the Battle of the Bulge, sends his utmost lack of sympathy for this young lady’s dilemma. Poor drunk driving thing.

I thought we should have scooped him two up two years before ol’ Miss did. Our BOT and A/D absolutely suck though. But NoOoOO Tanner picked a losing SEC Coach (Muschamp) and continued giving him extravagant raises amongst losing seasons. No one else in the planet thought Muschamp was a good idea for HC or even been considered
