Auburn is telegraphing Kiffin is their only target, and if Ole Miss falters down the stretch, there is talk of the hire being announced sooner rather than later, like before the iron bowl. Today should move that forward quite a bit.

I’m sorry, but I’m gonna have to see color-coded flight plans from the Oxford airport before I believe it. Or confirmation from a stripper that porn guy knows. ***

read Auburns board. Sexton has already thrown out some numbers.
once Ole Miss is eliminated it’s going to be even more open.

Let’s put it this way, Kiffin will be Auburns. Ouch before Ole Miss ever plays their minor bowl game.

Deion and freeze are not serious candidates.

I saw a bird too. It could have been a War Eagle, it was probably a buzzard, it certainly wasn’t a birdie!

If somehow it transpired to where Kiffin was announced to Auburn before the Iron Bowl (and therefore likely before the Egg Bowl), MSU might still owe Cohen his first 3 or 4 paychecks at Auburn.

That’s the rumor. If Ole Miss drops a couple of games they are going to go ahead and announce prior to iron bowl. Auburn saying his buyout is smaller than what was originally thought.

Auburn football is a dumpster fire.

Conversely, Ole Miss football appears to be in pretty good shape . . . with Kiffen currently at the helm.

This story doesn't pass the smell test.

Yeah, but how many of those Rebel transfers would follow Kiffin to Auburn? That could devastate UMiss, and maybe even lead to some rule changes.

I can see Kiffin going to Bama. Lots of money for NILs and assistant coaches. Dude can coach and recruit. He can afford to wait for that opening cause Oxford is nice and he's already making good money.

He’s also competing for the SEC West. No need to take just any job.

Kiffin. Isn’t. Leaving. Oxford.
I didn’t think so either. I didn’t think he’d leave unless unless it was USC, Texas or Miami. But after this loss today I do wonder if he gets frustrated and makes a bad decision (similar to Mullen in 2017).

He’ll leave eventually. They all do. May not be this year though.

Thing is, you can only be a hot name for so long. If he turns down an Auburn or an A&M this offseason and then turns around and has a few 6-6 / 7-5 type seasons at Ole Miss (or worse), then he’s never going to see those opportunities again. Kiffen’s stock will never be higher than it is right now.

This makes a lot of sense. Timing can be everything as far as the trajectory of a coach's career.
