In the middle of the 3rd while down 14, he went for it on 4th and 9 despite being well within FG range. Then in the middle of the 4th, also down 14, its 4th and 10 or so around midfield, and he punts. What gives? That’s almost as bad as Croom going for it on 4th and 1 at the 50 and then punting on 4th and 1 from the other team’s 30.

Going for it on 4th and 9 instead of the field goal was awful.

They were going for it on 4th and 10, but illegal motion made it 4th and 15. Never expected Bama"s next drive to eat up almost 7 minutes.

Don’t see how it matters. They were much more up against the wall in the 4th than in the 3rd. They had to go for it there. He made the wrong decision both times.

Tough call on 4th and 15. Still plenty of time to score twice if their defense can hold. And if you don't make it the game is pretty much over. Do you trust your #1 defense to make a stop, or do you trust your offense to get 15 yards? Neither option is good. He obviously preferred trying to get 10 yards, but 15 tipped the scales for him.

I agree with kicking in the 3rd.
