I think having them at #12 helps us. We are one of the few teams who can actually earn a quality win this week. The higher the perceived quality, the better.

Even though clemson was given a ranking of 12, they would still not make the playoffs due to one team from the Big 12 conference would take that position from clemson as it stands now.
