And kudos to KDKA for allowing it to stick.
Imagine a place where mentioning the great Joe Paterno is a thing of valor!??!

... and, for those of us who did not hear it/see it, how did he fit JoePa in to the discussion? And kudos to KDKA for allowing it to stick.

Didn’t hear it, but always thought that play was the epitome of keep hustling, and something good will happen... and, for those of us who did not hear it/see it, how did he fit JoePa in to the discussion?
Didn't see it, but over the years since the Sandusky mess, Jack had been ambivalent when it came to supporting Joe. Certainly in this regard, he is no Franco Harris. And kudos to KDKA for allowing it to stick.

He mentioned how Joe taught a Franco to “always run to the ball” as a way to recognize credit for how Franco reacted to IR play.... and, for those of us who did not hear it/see it, how did he fit JoePa in to the discussion?
Agree.Didn't see it, but over the years since the Sandusky mess, Jack had been ambivalent when it came to supporting Joe. Certainly in this regard, he is no Franco Harris.
And as far as KDKA goes, that is the very, very least they could do, given that they were leading the destroy Paterno and Penn State charge in Pittsburgh at the time, both on the radio and television sides.
Don't forget who Jack Ham asked to be his presenter to the pro football hall of fame . Also don't forget Jack does work for Penn State , where Franco doesn't .Also don't forget when Franco left Penn State he claimed Joe was too controlling .Didn't see it, but over the years since the Sandusky mess, Jack had been ambivalent when it came to supporting Joe. Certainly in this regard, he is no Franco Harris.

I think there are a fair number of people who, although they will never publicly admit it, have come to realize that (if nothing else) Joe was railroaded and scapegoated. Therefore, you have started to see him mentioned more (at least neutrally, if not positively). And kudos to KDKA for allowing it to stick.

Fwiw, at the Dec. 2012 Qback Club banquet, Jack Ham was the speaker. He spoke fondly of Joe, saying that he chose Joe to be his presenter for the Pro Football HOF induction ceremony, and that he would do it again without hesitation. That brought forth a huge ovation from the crowd and from the team and admin present.Didn't see it, but over the years since the Sandusky mess, Jack had been ambivalent when it came to supporting Joe. Certainly in this regard, he is no Franco Harris.
