Lamont Paris makes first comments on South Carolina portal additions
The Gamecocks' head coach made his first public comments on the additions of Ta'Lon Cooper or Stephen Clark out of the transfer portal.
Hmmm“These are two experienced guys that have been around that that know how to handle bad calls from the officials. Me saying something that they don’t like to hear. Their parents saying something that they didn’t want to hear,” Paris said.
“They’ve been around. They know what college basketball is like. They’re also selfless guys that are capable but don’t have to have things centered around themselves. They’re really good human beings, good teammates, just great guys for the locker room on top of all that.”

Just take a GGuess..
Ya'll are reading too much into this. He's simply suggesting they can take a little criticism / coaching. I don't think he's taking at shot at one of his former players.@Collyn Taylor What is your take? Would you take this as a little tongue in cheek, or am I reading into this too much.
I like the guy myself.I know Paris still has a lot to prove, but I thought he handled GG about as well as you could hope. GG obviously struggled in the situation he was in. And Paris didn’t let him off the hook. Really pulling for Paris. He’s the kind of coach you want representing your school.
I wouldn't expect Paris to be the type of man to do such a thing, but at the very least you have to call it coincidental, which is all I am saying. GG's comment on his Instagram suggested highly of someone who thought he was going to be the centerpiece. There is quite a bit of evidence also that showed GG's immaturity at various moments in the season. Very high one moment, and way down the next. Don't get me wrong, I love GG and Paris had no choice but to go after him, but we all know what it turned into. Tongue in cheek, a slight, coincidence, call it what you want, but the comment does coincide with some of the struggles Paris had in the season.Ya'll are reading too much into this.
