Lamont Wade should be grateful for the opportunity he was given. He underperformed for most of his career at PSU. I fail to see how that's anyone's fault other than his considering the fact that PSU kept him on the field rather than the sideline. If anything, PSU was loyal to a fault with Wade.

Meh. The anger of youth eventually gives way to more thoughtful recollection of the times at PSU.

I see a couple of former PSU QBs every so often - they both left with anger and malice in their heart, but have since mellowed significantly to the point they are embarrassed of their demeanor at their departure, and now wish they had made better commentary. I think in the long run, Wade will also.

The thing is he keeps visiting State College and every time I see it I cringe.

So did the two QBs I mentioned.

It's not that big of a deal, really. Just a bunch of old guys who get their knickers in a snit when they think they have been disrespected.

The place was disrespected.

How much someone (poster) wants to let it bother them is a another idea. I typically consider the source of a disparaging comment. In this case I think that is enough.

Yes, a former player who no longer enters the consciousness of the PSU fan base takes it upon himself to use a current player’s newsworthy announcement regarding LSU as an opportunity to take an unnecessary cheap shot at PSU. A few people react.

Let’s now use that as a jumping off point to attack anonymous/hypothetical “old guys.” Makes sense . . .

You are being overly generous to Wade. Some people remain a$$holes. He is seeking validation for his self perceived failures and bitterness.

I wish all the best to PSU players after they've moved on, but respect works both ways. Franco, Lavar, Micah, they have earned my utmost respect.
Lamont not so much, move on raise your family and respect the university that has been more than gracious to you, he's lucky they took him back from the portal.
I bet your two quarterbacks are not named Collins, Blackledge, Shafer, or Richardson.

In one case you would be surprised of their name, in the other - may not so much. By the way, Rich Kuzy used to hate Joe....he mellowed out too.

But, it's not really my problem to solve. I only post what I observe.

I post what i observe too, the PSU players i've known have been thankful for their experience, i've seen some chippy comments from others , but some guys just like to pile on day after day after day.

Some players feel they can move on to the portal and be successful, good for them , but most turn out the same way. The old grass is greener cliche. The glory days of high school, cross country recruiting visits, hat trick games, red carpet treatment ,my list of 7 teams, are all gone the first day of PSU practice . When they walk into Beaver Stadium on senior day then the next step is reality, now you have to earn it.

Tell me more! I was friends with Rich and went to college and wrestled with his brother Rob.

Wade was given every opportunity to succeed at PSU and did not excel! Elite players like Dotson excel even on a team with a not so good running
game, only an okay QB, and not a great OL-but even with that Dotson was great and did not complain. Dotson will be making lots of money playing on Sundays while hopefully Wade took advantage of academics at PSU and has a good nonfootball career! We had other players (AK, Brisker, etc) do very well this year at PSU and will play on Sundays!

A victim of the star system. He will continue to be an angry man. It's sad that those around some of these kids convince them that they are NFL bound and burden them with expectations to provide for their families. He could never have been more than a special teams contributor in the NFL.

If he was properly rated, as a 3-star, it seems he wouldn't be so mad at the world.

Wade had a decent career at PSU and was a monster in his last game against OSU (three turnovers I think?). He's always been really outspoken. But, something was up when I think Michigan didn't offer after he camped there. Word was Wade was terrific in camps too, but it just didn't translate. Decent, but raters missed the mark on him (seems to happen to a lot of PSU 5 stars)....

Why did you wait until now to share your true opinion?

You could have saved this lad and this esteemed board much angst had you spoken from the heart ❤️ earlier
