Late game day drinking.

The one thing I hate about late games is pacing. Staying right on the bubble without going too far one way or the other. Coffee with Bailey’s, and bloody Mary’s for breakfast. Then transitioning to SA Octoberfest the rest of the day.

I generally abstain until the 2:30 game and then I’ll pace myself through our night game. I realize that you can’t drink all day unless you start early but there’s nothing worse than a hangover after a devastating loss. I’m no longer a glutton for that kind of punishment. One thing I can control, the other I can’t.

My household has been battling the flu for two weeks straight now, so it's gonna be a pretty weekend around the house for me. My plan is

Coffee for breakfast
Lunch with ZOA energy drink around noon
Lost Forty Hunter starting at 1
Larceny barrel proof, grilled tri-tip, then firepit + smores around 6

Like @PBRME I got started early. Put a brisket on the smoker at 4:00 AM and been drinking shiners since before sunrise. Between the smoker and the fire pit it's nice and toasty on the back porch, even though a few of the flatlanders on the board won't buy it.




Brisket just hit the stall a little bit ago and should have a few hours to rest before the game. Switching over to whiskey at game time, Garrison Bros Balmorhea to start and then I will hit the Early Times BIB most likely.

My Dad who drank a fifth of KY Tavern everyday would occasionally enjoy what he referred to as a "Beer Soda". He would typically start the morning with what he called "Irish Coffee" even though he used cheap bourbon.
