Such a fun player to watch, "generational" like Saquon but on defense. Seems like everyone he tackled was stopped dead in their tracks or went backwards. And such a highlight reel. There's one against OSU I believe where he was so fast it seemed he took the handoff from the running back.
Would love to know what his beef with the Pitt punter was as well.

Bigger question: Does the College Football Hall of Fame induction finally get LaVar his deserved place on Franklin’s coaching staff?

What kind of luggage does LaVar bring?

Lavar had a beef with Drew Brees also. Drew must still be having nightmares about that game.

Saw a great picture of him, Mac Morrison, JF, Brandon Short, Rashad Casey, Courtney Brown together at the event tonight

That's what I thought, but I believe that is Wally Richardson and not Rashad Casey
I still regret losing the video of the Lavar Leap from his high school days. I cannot find it anywhere.

The smile on Lavar's face when he played was glorious. He was absolutely Superman on a football field and brought joy to the field.

Lavar would still be amazing with today's rules, but it would be more difficult because of the violence with which he played. Helmet to helmet. Horse collars. Jumping over people. He did whatever it took.

"Have you ever been chased by a grizzly bear?" Broadcaster of 1999 Pitt/PSU game talking about Lavar
I believe the crazy Lavar takeaway against OSU was his freshman year in garbage time when OSU was blowing us out. It was a preview of things to come as Paterno did not play him much as a freshman.

You are right. If Micah stayed another year at psu he possibly could have been at the level lavar was at psu.
My post was meant to be sarcastic. Lavar is a great Penn Stater—one of the best of all time. Parsons is a great player, but I don’t consider him to be a Penn Stater.

LaVar had many great tackles. BUT, one of his best, is the one where he crushes Kirk Herbstreit at Beaver Stadium, where you literally can see Herby decide on his way back to the huddle that his future is in broadcasting. I wish the crack historians at ESPN would show that play one day during game day before the OSU-PSU game. It would be epic and heal the battered souls of Penn State fans.
