We all love and appreciate Darius. I wish he'd contained himself on this one. Doesn't really do any good for us or Dawn.

Agree, you don't want to give TN bulletin board material. And Darius was a bit over zealous with his celebration. But I do think we are better than TN next year.

I nearly died laughing.... cue up Springsteen singing “Glory Days”

“Tennessee hasn’t been to a Final Four since 2008 when it won its eighth national championship under former coach Pat Summitt. Nonetheless, 14 years later, the UT program is still a measuring stick for women’s basketball.”

Hello can you say GENO or UCONN?

UT is hungry for a return to 2008, I get that and Darius was uhh a little enthusiastic but it’s an in house celebration.

UT is a top 10 talented team. What they will be become is yet to be seen. We are a known. When we play it will be for a SEC title. Bring it on...

I don't keep up with women's basketball, so my opinion doesn't count for much. I mostly know what I pick up from the periphery when I hear about women's basketball while keeping up with other sports. What UT did under Summit makes them a measuring stick. Nothing they've done since she stepped down makes them a measuring stick. The torch has been passed in the SEC for the time being it seems.

I agree with your stats…. But you can’t make light of all of summits championships either. She is a legend, I’d say as far everything is considered it would be summit, geno, and maybe dawn in top 5.

32 straight years of going to the tournament…. 8 national championships!!!! Runner ups another 5 times!!!

If dawn ever, ever, ever smells this type of success then we can get her into the conversation….. until then…. LET Those STATS MARINATE IN YA MIND FOR A WHILE

Who made light of Pat? Not me..... I was pointing what the writer was doing, Living in the past.

Pat hasn’t coached in a decade, UT Hasn’t been to a final four in 15 years. Bree Hall was 3 years old and Dawn Staley was coaching at Temple the last time UT went to a final four.

UT has a past, USC is the present, Kellie Harper is working her butt off to make UT the future. Can she do it this year? Maybe, but they lose all 5 starters(as do we basically) and we have much better talent waiting in the wings

I stopped reading when I figured it was about Ladies Basketball.
I'll be back to check on the thread in a month.

Coach Summit was in a different era. It's like saying the current Yankees are baseball's measuring stick because of the 60's Yankee teams. The name on the jersey might be the same but the teams and the competition are vastly different. Coach Harper may well do good things in KTown but for now, the road to the SEC championship goes through Dawn. She is light years better than last former coach.
