I never understood why he is disliked. I have no problem with him. He's neither critical nor a sunshine pumper; he just told it the way it is.

I've never seen any indication of him being a Clemson homer. My son knows him and assures me he is not. So give me the reason people don't like him.
Tell us the reason for the dislike. He's not going away just rebranding to cover the SEC and not just the Gamecocks.
I think a lot of Fans think he is an opportunist at Gamecock expense. He will lean whatever way gets more clicks. I think he also trademarked "Beamer Ball" which really ticked off fans. That is why Beamer Ball 2.0 exists. Throw in alleged issues with underaged girls and old racist tweets that have been cleaned off his twitter feed........and there you have it.

His voice irks me, if i listen too long itll give me a slight headache. But I enjoyed what he had to say. He wasn't a sunshine pumper, he called it like it was.

I’ve heard Chris grew up a Clemson Tiger so that might be where some of the animosity comes from. I don’t know if this is true, and really never cared enough to check.
He does an ok job, but comes off a bit as imitating the guys on TV rather than being authentic. The SEC Unfiltered stuff is painful to watch so far. Basically just watching him try to connect with anyone relevant on Social Media from the other SEC teams. Not saying it won’t work, but he’s really not saying anything new or fresh…just regurgitating what he’s heard elsewhere. Which, hey, that’s basically what the journalists do nowadays so, more power to him.
Hope he does well, but think he walked from a decent niche to try to make it big in a saturated SEC market. Think he’ll end up making bold predictions and trolling fanbases to generate interest. It’ll probably work.
There is a side of this where if feels like some media is walking away from the team as well. Heath Cline, Chris, others…. Obviously many factors contribute to these things, but does feel like people looking for greener pastures as always.
