Watched some of their game against FIU last night and have seen bits and pieces of other games. I know you have to consider the competition, but they aren't terrible. This has the feel of 2019 when we lost 5 of our last 6 and played completely uninspired in losing to App St at home. They're sitting on 7 wins and you can bet the house they are going to come in fired up and motivated to pick off some low-hanging SEC fruit AND win Gamecock bragging rights to boot.

Honestly, watching them play, I don't see a whole lot of difference in talent level between them and us.

If we get manhandled at A&M, or even a lose a heart-breaker, this team will be in the danger zone where teams sometime check out mentally on a failed season. If we do that, we'll lose.

Noon game against an uninspiring opponent after what will likely be our 4th loss in a row. Red flags all over this one. It's a game could win easily if we play disciplined and focused. But I believe Jacksonville State could/will win if we don't show up.

We shouldn’t worry about jax state. Not if our coach is as good as everyone keeps saying. Everyone says he is a great recruiter so we must be full of talent.

A loss to Jax State would signal that the team has completely given up on the season and Beamer.
I don’t think we will lose to them, but again it could be like Appalachian state from 2019. My concern is what you mention, that, after taking so many beatings in a row, the team just kind of gives up. I hope not, and I don’t think Beamer would let that happen, but it’s always a danger.

It’s just not a game we can half-a** it and win based on our on field talent.

A loss could be a sign of a bigger problem, i.e. the team has given up on Beamer and the whole program. Our talent edge should be enough to win, if we don't, it means our players really aren't trying. At 2-5 right now and facing the probability of being 2-6, Jax State and Vandy are the only two likely wins left on the schedule with UK a possibility so the ceiling looks to be 5-7. 4-8 is more likely and that record could create a funk that carries over to next season and may make some recruits rethink their commitment.

It is a sad commentary that the Jax State game is a "big game" for the program.
