This. Nothing else matters. I think it can be done, but we have to duplicate last night's performance & effort.
Suddenly, the complexion of that game looks very different than it has in a long while. It will still require us to play one of our best games of the season, but a win in that game is within the reach of this team.
Here's the problem....their defense is nothing like Tennessee's. The Vols just sat back & let Rattler pick them apart. Tillman won't do that. Not only is their front 4 vastly superior to Tennessee's, but their Hobbit DC is much more likely to blitz the heck out of us. Now, Tillman's offense ain't as explosive as UT's, but they can run the ball very well. I honestly fear they will just try to run at will the way Florida did. Strange to say, but Tennessee was a much better matchup for us. I'm really not optimistic due to how this one matches up.
Oh, I don't think any Gamecock fans are chalking this one up as a win yet. There's always the chance that the Gamecocks that played Mizzou and Florida show up for the game up there. But at least we know this offense is capable of putting up impressive numbers on a team with a strong pulse. We may not see last night's offensive performance duplicated again in our lifetime, but if we can put a competent, or even average, offense on the field against Clemson, we at least have a chance.
And if Rattler gets rid of the ball quickly like last night we have a decent shot at winning
