I hate losing and I will never cheer against MSU unless losing somehow would benefit us. But the silver lining here is that Raffo got his "shot" and failed miserably. Thanks Ron for proving my point- intentional or not.

Not bunting in the ninth inning probably cost us the game. We get that bunt down, we get a runner to third, Collins hits the fly ball and we're tied. That's textbook baseball, and I'll tell you a big reason why we made that mistake was inexperience.

THAT`s the reason I don`t want Raffo. I don`t think he`s worth a **** to anybody until he`s been de-toxed from Polk`s system.

Of course someone will probably say that we should not have even been in that position if Nappi had caught the fly ball. My response would still be that whether you are down a run or winning that you still have to bunt in that situation. 17 Polk and 17 Raffo.

What is wrong with Cody Freeman?

Did raffo have the hit and run on or was the ball almost getting down? Listening to Jim sounded as if the runners were moving before the hit and we were almost doubled-off.

I can understand what he was thinking with that, but still, you bunt in that situation every time-- no question about it.

Don't get me wrong. I think it would be a mistake to hire Raffo over Cohen if Cohen will accept the job. But, how in the hell does it come down to a one game coaching showdown as to which coach would be better to hire?

I scanned Gene's Page a while ago and they're saying he did have the bunt on for the first pitch and Houge bunted it foul. So he didn't totally screw up the call. Of course, he should have had the bunt until 2 strikes instead of taking it off after the first strike so it is still a screwup.

When the series started it crossed my mind that i wished we would get swept, but the bulldog in me could never allow me to think in such a way. Logical thinking would say that our coaching search could not possibly be based on one weekend, but then we are mstate and this is exactly the closed minded thinking that i have grown to expect.

John Cohen is the man for the job. Some don't want him bc they think the players will not respond to a fiery coach. We need someone that is passionate, fiery, and aggressive. Cohen is all of these things and more. There is no arguement how great a hitting coach that Cohen is. I have watched his dvd and it's unbelievable. Actually had a former bulldog player from the late 70's send the dvd to me to watch. In his opinion it was the most innovative and impressive hitting instruction that he has ever seen. Take it for what it's worth but we can't go wrong with John Cohen.

take it from me -- he's interested, but he likes it here. If he goes, you've got a coach for life. I hear he stays, but that's from a bunch of UK fans so who knows.
